I don't know what happened to FerrariChat yesterday, this thread got lost in the crash... Well, here it is again. Enjoy. Today we paid the workshop a visit to finally lay our eyes on the car that we've configured about 7 months ago. It was the first time seeing the car in white and in Sport GT trim, so we were noticeably very anxious as well as excited to see how it turned out. Initial pictures sent by our sales exec weren't really flattering, which came at a little disappointment - nevertheless, those were low quality, small pictures - maybe seeing it in real life would make a difference. Frankly, as I've said before, pictures don't do the Quattroporte justice. It looks way lower in real life, and you can really appreciate the curves of this car when natural light falls on it. I gasped a sigh of relief when I inspected the white - it's of a off-white nature, unlike what we saw in those pictures that appeared to be like 'toilet white'. The interior's beige was a little lighter than how it looked like in the online configurator, but it was what I expected. The piano wood turned out perfect, though now I'm cycling in my mind whether carbon fibre would have turned out better. As for build quality, I was a little disappointed. Firstly, I saw some scratches in the chrome trim. Secondly, I saw some rubber trimmings in the interior running loose. Thirdly, the storage compartment at the front passenger's side didn't have a very good fit. However, at this stage the car hasn't gone through the in-house 'grooming' yet, they promised us that they will solve all these minor issues by time we collect the car. We had the opportunity to meet the technician who would be working on our car, and he said if he couldn't buff the scratches off the trim, they'll replace it for free. So far, service has been excellent but can't say for sure, because we haven't owned the car long enough yet. Everything else seems to be in order. We're officially collecting the car on the 5th of January - for now, they'll be doing the grooming as well as waxing and polishing. Here are some initial pictures (I'll take more when we get it officially): Exterior Interior
I'm normally not a white fan, as it has become a hot color of late. I must say however your car in pictures looks stunning. I have to see a white one in person to see if my opinion would change, but from what I see I like it very, very much. Good choice!!
Thanks TeamF1Jr... Many people have said that white isn't a colour for the Quattroporte, and that dark colours suit it better. I'm thankful our white turned out this way.
gorgeous car! imo, i think the qp is the way to go w/maserati until they redesign their coupe and spyder, that color combo is stunning!
I'm not quite active in FChat, just in the Maser section. Thanks for your welcome and good to see a familiar face here!
RHD - are you UK based? Aus? South Africa? Japan? Lovely car, looks well in white. Will the rear park sensors stay black or are they caps/plugs used for tranportation? When do you get to use it on the open road?
Quattroporte related material, interesting read, congrats on the white car. http://cars.uk.msn.com/News/Top_ten_article.aspx?cp-documentid=1298937 "Maserati Quattroporte There are no two ways about it, the Quattroporte is quite simply the best looking car on sale today. Quite frankly, why would anyone buy any other uber-saloon? The S-Class will make you look like an African dictator, the 7-Series is uglier than Coventry and no-one will even notice you in the Audi A8. Arrive in a Quattroporte, however, and everyone will assume you are an Italian playboy or Mafiosi. Either way, maximum respect is guaranteed. Ill have mine in black please Santa!"
Singapore. The rear park sensors haven't been installed yet, they will be body-colour coded. 5th January, that's the date.
Looks great! (just bought a white car but with black interior) Personally my favorite maserati quattraporte color is bordeux or the blue in one of your pics.
When the Sport GT version first came out I thought those rims were really ugly... however, they have really grown on me and I now think they are quite unique and stylish.
nice spec! the only difference i would have to say would be to go with pearl white. loving the colors and rim options. well done and enjoy.
Thank you! Pearl white's nice, but we're talking about paying more than US30k for that. Ownership's not without its problems. So far we had an electronics system failure and a hill-hold malfunction. Hopefully no more will crop up... Will test drive an auto QP tomorrow.
