Mark and I took our Dinos out for a day long drive in the mountains and led a group of 7 Ferraris past one of our local ski areas to the east side of WA State (1.75 hours away). We stopped for a photo shoot at Steven's Pass and found a group from the Ford Model A/T club there.
Please find my slideshow of photos from the drive to Leavenworth, WA in the link below.

This was a great day of perfect weather, clear roads and spectacular scenery.

A few more photos of the trip led by Scott M. to Leavenworth, photos by Julie S.

The photos with the Model A club were taken at the top of Stevens Pass on Highway 2 in Washington. Stevens Pass Ski area is in the background. NOTE: the water near the 575 S/A was from a Honda that had been parked near one of the Model As. Although there is snow in the background it was warm at the pass (elevation 4061 feet, mountain top at 5,845 feet) - 70 degrees approximately on 6/2/2007. This morning (Wednesday 6/6/2007), it was snowing at Stevens Pass. The photos of the river (The Wenatchee River) running in the background east from Stevens Pass were taken at speed. Unfortunately, we were unable to get photos (while driving) of the huge rapids and standing waves in sections of the river (category 4/5). When we reached Leavenworth it was over 80 (elevation 1180 feet). A great drive, with a great backroad return led by Will D.

Cool photos - the sixth one was definitely taken by Mark, not Julie, as I can see the reflection in the Ford's window of you in the blue shirt!

Can't believe that we survived that 95-100 degree day at the wine festival.

For those that have never been to WA State, the mountains and eastward area are the start of a different climate than the rainy West side. That area averages 15 inches of rain per year, barely one-third what the Western side gets.

    Incredible ride/pics/scenery!

Down here my 328 seems to be the oldest car on any of our drives. I can honestly say I've never seen a Boxer on the road.

I'm organizing an FCA Ferrari club drive to Victoria Aug 3-6th and have chosen a weekend with perfect tides so loading the ferry will be no problem. Please consider attending, but spots are filling fast with over 55 people from Oregon, CA, WA and Canada already signed up. Besides the exchange rate advantage we are getting a club discount on prices.

We have several fun activities to join in on; hosting a welcome party, sponsoring a dinner at waterfront hotel on Victoria's Inner Harbour, taking a drive to the countryside with photo stops, and lunch at the local wineries. In addition, the Jaguar National Meet is ongoing and we are coordinating events with them. No passports are required, it is very easy to get here as the distance is just 90 miles from our meeting place with the Oregon/CA group on I-5 and this is the BEST time of year to see the Pacific NorthWest.

If you've never been to the City of Victoria, this is a very nice town with an old world feel of Europe to it. I've made the drive from either LA and the Bay area in my Dino in as little as two days but with the pleasant summer weather I'd suggest a more relaxing Coastal route.

The particular Boxer in question was featured on a Griot's Garage cover not too long ago.

    funny,

here in houston (definitely not a "california" style classic car area), i think i am one of the only ones who has driven an older ferrari on a rally/outing/whatever. i know of a 330gtc and a 275gts that has been on past ralley's. however, if i take a dino, it is almost certain to be the oldest car in the rally/outing/whatever.

and i agree, i have seen many boxers over the years, but i have never seem one driving down the road - but then again, i am in houston. older cars are very rarely seen driving on the road, regardless of makes (unless you consider old american hotrods - even this is a new trend)
