Anybody here ever buy a white or silver Crown Vic with hub caps and a thick sway bar so people will move out your way in the fast lane? Seems like it would be fun.
I've mentioned that - would be great to put your business logo in blue and yellow on the side, too. Also needs 3 CB and cellular antennae on the rear window and trunk, and a spotlight on the mirror.
Very true. http://motors.search.ebay.com/police_Crown-Victoria_W0QQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQfcclZ1QQfclZ3QQfromZR10QQfrppZ50QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ9QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsacatZ6227QQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZQQssPageNameZWLRS
one of our employee has an old Chevy Impala that was a Coper before. White , black wheels , that supplementar light by the window..People slow down when they see the car
You can buy this one for only $4k. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-Ford-Crown-Victoria-Police-Interceptor-Low-Miles_W0QQitemZ270071525604QQihZ017QQcategoryZ6227QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem So tempting!
In 1992 a got a new black 5.0 LX Mustang. The Ca highway patrol used them for high speed chase cars. I would fly right up peoples a$$ in the fast lane, and scare the hell out of them. At night you could not tell us apart, it was great to be 18 and dumb. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've thought about it. Crown Vics with the Sport package are pretty comfortable, indestructible, and not expensive. Make mine black or dark blue. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-Crown-Victoria-LX-Sport_W0QQitemZ190062824026QQihZ009QQcategoryZ6227QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem My current commuter beater is a big, black sedan, sometimes people will get out of my way. I've thought about putting 2 coffee mugs, 1 red and 1 blue, up on the center of the dashboard to encourage them a little more.
A buddy bought a Mercury Marauder back in 02 or 03 and drove it for about a year. It was black and he switched out the chrome wheels for black steel wheels and black chrome symbols. Yes, people certainly did a double-take when he'd creep up in the rear. It was also amusing to ride with him and watch for worn out shocks in the opposing lane. I've found that people tend to move out of the way for my truck pretty good...but if you really want to part the waters, take a JD for a spin. People will just flat get innovative to avoid me coming down a back country road in my JD 9420 or 9660. Of course I'm not looking to pass anybody either...LOL. ;-)
I would never had beleived it, unless I had experienced it myself. Years ago, test drove a white Caprice from a Ford dealer(Ex-Sheriff car resold, minus the police goodies) put the car in the fast lane and people would move out of the way! It has an affect on traffic. A few months ago, some sicko was pulling people over and assulting them using a former cop car. The guy bought dash warning light strobes to create the 'legit' effect. The Sheriff and CHP where yanking over any car that looked like an unmarked cop car, hoping the catch the guy. They never did. Just seemed like a bad season to drive one.
Paul, LOL, , Reminds me of when I was in the Navy, I bought a car from a Commodore,,, with sticker. (he he) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did that about 6 weeks ago. White with black wheels and I want to put on a blue logo on each door like a coat of arms. It wouldn't hurt to put on a roof rack bar in the same location as a light bar would be. Also they left the brackets for the lightbar inside the grill and I don't have to worry about spilling coffee on my rubber floor. They also left the suspension and motor in it. Very helpful. All this for under 5 grand.
My brother had the Mercury Marauder black with blacked out windows. Best way to get where you are going is driving that thing. EVERYONE gets out of your way. BT
had a young friend who had an ex state police cruiser. he hung a khaki uniform shirt in the back window. when he would pass troopers on the highway they'd wave.
In college, I inherited my fathers white Fury III wagon back when the NJ Staties were using them. The toll booth attendants used to wonder why I was stopping to actually pay toll. At one point, I noticed the car in front of me blow its lower radiator hose. I flashed my lights at him and he pulled over. When I walked up to his window, he tried to hand me his license and registration. In retrospect, it could have been much worse. Impersonating a cop is a serious business in an armed society. "Fun" isn't the term that comes to mind.
totally off topic, this week an off duty police SGT was working on his house THAT FACES A POLICE SUBSTATION no less, and he was ROBBED AT GUNPOINT by 2 guys. he is really bieng razzed by " the boys ". i was in a local gun shop i hang out at , and some guys came in talking about it. ( they were also off duty cops) i feel bad for the SGT, to have this happen and so close to the holidays. i feel WORSE that the cops are not even safe in my freaking town. i carry a damn gun everywhere now, except where forbidden by law.
