First, the "old" was my 88 328GTS which I bought just last September, and had brought up to complete mechanical perfection with the help of Karl Troy at European Road and Racing. (Help meaning he did the work and I paid the bill)

In addition to a complete belt service, water pump rebuild, as well as replacing all hoses etc I tried to minimize some of the heat from the engine & luggage compartments by having Karl install a Stebro "test pipe" which I can report was IMO not a good solution. It did reduce the heat a bit, however, at least when used with the original Ferrari exhaust, it brought a great deal of resonance into the cabin. BTW, Dan at Stebro has, so far, not accepted a return, even though the pipe was immediately removed.

The 328 is a great sportscar in the traditional sense. The unassisted steering is just perfect, and the feel while driving is as pure as I remember from some of the other cars I have owned in the past. So many cars...so little time.

Which brings me to the "new". I have loved the 360 Spider ever since I first saw the car, and I found a 2003 with 2000 miles and equipped just the way I would have ordered it. I just brought it home from Orlando and the car is everything I had hoped. I ended up trading the 328 for the 360 at Ferrari of Central Fl.

I miss some of the attributes of the 328, but overall, I love the 360 even more, and I did not want to split my "fun car" miles (about 4000-5000 per year) in more ways, or get into a garage lift situation.

I look forward to participating in more of the events held in the Carolinas, and last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank Danny, Buddy, David and the other guys (so far no gals) in the Columbia contingent. They are always ready to encourage and abet the addition of another F car in the group. :)

Craig, I do not mind you following, or leading either. You have a nice car. Mine, (back during college) was a 62 Austin Healy 3000. No P/S, no P/Bs, no A/C, same with roll up windows etc, but I loved it.

Thanks Matt. I still love the classic lines of the 308/328 series. BTW, I used to live in Louisville. Great roads all around Kentuckiana. I miss the ride up to the Overlook Restaurant for Sunday brunch, among many others.

Whoops, I thought you were the guy with the Subaru WRX STi. In that case I would rather be riding on my BMW 1200 GS. :)

We need to set up some sort of Columbia area Fchatters meeting at a coffee shop or something. I haven't seen any Fcars since I worked next to FOW up in Virginia over Christmas break and I'm not sure how much longer I can take it

We get together about once a month, usually alternating between Atanta Bread Co. on HWY 378 or at the Starbucks on Forest Drive.
I'll let you know the time and place for the next meet.
