I’m just wondering if anyone knows of a great outdoor car cover. Breathable waterproof soft fitted for 488 Coupe. The car has full PPF with ceramic coating. It is when the car goes to the beach house with no garage and salt and bird droppings the main issue. Grateful for any thoughts. Thanks.

Whatever you get, be sure it is soft on the inside against the paint. Wind can cause covers to flap around and erode the paint if the material is too stiff like tarps.

Totally agree. Can also put indoor cover underneath to minimise friction. Hopefully someone has some experience wth this and has some good options.

I put the soft cover on and then a California Car Cover waterproof. Not their most expensive one. The one that has many colors and is customizable. In conjunction with the soft cover, this rain jacket does a good job of keeping off the debris and rain. Have not used in a snow or frozen environment in California, but I’m assuming Australia is okay.

Thanks. I have heard various comments from the manufacturers he . Some have fluffy linings and others say those linings collect dirt and dust which sounds feasible. It seems sensible to use the soft indoor cover underneath as a barrier to friction. Maybe it’s just better to wash the ceramic coating when it gets dirty?
Hard to know unless you’ve done it. Appreciate your thoughtsthanks

I have 2 of these (one for each car) and they work great.

Comes with silicon desiccant to keep the car dry, good solid zipper to keep the mice out. As the others said though, always use a soft cover

For sure if there appear no other good options. Has anyone used an outdoor model?

I have a cover for my 488 which was made by a company here in the UK.

It is waterproof and has a soft inner lining. I have been using it for over a year and it has worked well.

The outside of the cover dries quickly after rain, and I don't remove it until completely dry. Also, I always clean the car before putting the cover on. In that way the inside of the cover has stayed clean and there is no risk of scratches to the bodywork.

As long as you stick to this regime, I think a cover can work reasonably well.
