It's hard for me to figure out how the airplane simply goes into a dive when it appears that he had enough altitude. I know that anything like this is a compilation of many things and it bugs me.Medical issue maybe. Feel bad for the pilot.
Made the national news, but video was of poor quality. I was not even sure what it was.
Sad to see this. I saw him perform at Sun-N-Fun. Did a nice job. Never imagined I'd see a full acro display in a Mohawk.
Know 2 guys who flew them. One Air Force, one Marine. Both said they were very aerobatic.
Could easily be a medical issue.
I met and talked to this guy at length when I brought a plane to the Homestead airshow in 2015. Somewhere I have a picture of me in his Mohawk. He seemed like a real nice guy and the plane was a very moving Vietnam tribute. It had the names of all MIA painted on it. Very unfortunate.

"The 59-year-old dermatologist poured his passion into his patients and his Vietnam War-era attack plane, which he restored and flew at air shows nationwide."
I'm glad that I could see and learn who this man was. Sad to lose anyone who was doing so much right and important to those who needed medical attention.

there are a pair of Mohawks on the Signature ramp at KORF, tires flat, padlocked, all the gust locks, pitot covers and cowl plugs bleached white. I've wondered what it would take to restore. Definitely a labor of love.
