By the way, winning prizes is/are is consider like income therefore, it's taxable by the value of the prize , in this case the current vdllue of the 308.
Yeah, because for a $75k scholarship fund based around an exotic car auction, a Carfax is WAAAAY too much to ask for.
Ya know, Mike .......... Though you're probably correct, factually and financially speaking ..... but the manner in which you put this "fact", I find just a bit off putting. There are always many ways to say something. First, say it to yourself, and see if you like what you just heard (just a thought). Cheers, Hank
I guess to me it's just a donation. If something else comes with it so be it . I'll worry about the car fax some other time .
Right ? And a car fax too . What ever happened to let's just help some kids ? Do we really care about the car. Please.....
I don't think there's anything personal against Steve. Like you said it's a donation, but there should be always some healthy skepticism to make sure that it's s legit raffle and the money will go to the kids. And if anyone does win the car, of course hopefully there will be the said car to go to the winner. It's a win win situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Really? You wonder why some people had doubt when the OP changed what they said they were going to do as soon as all the tickets had been sold?
I have an idea , how bout the winner of the car donates it back to the charity of their choice . All problems solved . No need for vin numbers, car fax , taxes etc. I'm in . Anyone else ?
Very generous of you. I donate a reasonable amount each year. If I win, I will sell it and fund my car addiction with the proceeds
I just see it as the change in the situation constitutes the change in plans. The whole point of showing the car was to sell tickets. Since they were sold out why risk damage to the car to take it out and move it around just to show it to people who can't buy tickets? Two minutes or research will give you a pretty good feeling it's legit too.
Re-donating it won't get you out of your tax liability. As noble as re-donating sounds, I personally am looking to drive the car and enjoy the heck out of it should fortune shine down on me and provide the winning ticket.
Brian, Precisely! In order to calm the skeptics, the car will be shown next sunday Sept 7th @ Super Car Sunday in Woodland Hills from 7:30-9:00am
