Just as the title states. I am contemplating a second Ferrari as there really isn't anything on the market that comes close. I already have a Yellow 360 Modena, so I was thinking adding a 550 (to have a proper V12 Front engine Ferrari) or a 355GTS (to have the last classic Targa V8 Ferrari). Red of Course.

I've also become drawn to the 550. Prices are settling, and it's a nice complement to the mid-V8 cars - more of a tourer.

Plus they're just bloody gorgeous. Although red isn't their best color, IMO.

Red looks the best on any Ferrari, trust me. Remember my saying "When God made prancing horsies he made all the good ones red" :D.
I do like the 550, silver does look nice on it.

IMO, there are many colors that look better than red on a 550/575. I think you need to see more Ferraris (grueling task thought that may be...)

There is no substitute for a front engined V12 Ferrari. 550's are a bargain relative to the performance they provide and the 575 is at a nice price point, where you can chhoose to have an F1 transmission, which IMVHO is far better suited to the wide torque band of the V12 than the applications (and slower shift speeds) in V8's with relatively narrow torque bands.

IMO, Each Ferrari looks good in 2 colors Red and X. X on the 550 is definitely silver, X on a 3x8 is black, most Ferraris the X color is black.

I have both a 550 and a 355 GTS. Totally different animals! I would go for a 550/575 next if I were you. If I really had the money...I would buy the Super America! But alas... I just can afford these two next to my double wide trailer.

I love the 550/575 line. Love the 550 barchetta most of all...

That said, if I were to add another car, my current thinking would be to add a daytona coupe. Classic front engine V12... but thats just me. Very different animal to a 550.

I have the F550 and F360. They are both wonderful, with the edge to the 550. Get one. You will love it. They are different enough to be refreshingly fun to drive them both. Mine is Red with Tan. Beautiful!

When I decided that I could actually go for another Ferrari, and that I would opt for the 456, which I had come to love [and practical too, but DO love the 550/575] I was pleasantly surprised on what a HUGE difference they were.

the Mondial T is more like a pony. with short, proper warm up, it is ready to feel between the legs like a quick, somewhat fast mover. GREAT for the hills in that it hugs and responds and wants more...take it in a medium to quick pace and you can feel he is with you and trustworthy.
calm it down for the stable. feed it well, watch it's medical and it will be a wonderful performer.

then, you decide, why not a true Stead, big, work horse. 12 cylinders and a sturdy well built strong body and you know you have a stud there. it can gallop with the best of anything when you want it, true it can't take the corners in hill like the pony/youngster, but don't even try to gallop with it against the small one: this big guy is a true beast.

warm up and cool down is an issue, but it is something I just look at and .. I'm already fishing for the keys and some excuse, which......
    gives troubles:
trouble with Ferraris is, it is a FULL event.....warm up, run it throught it's paces, cool it down, check it out and put away for the period...
takes time and effort set aside to make this happen. This will be, IMO, your biggest issue, giving proper time to each [honey, you want the 'flimsy' T today or the BEAST!!!!!] but you got to treat your stable equally...that's the trouble......

if you've never owned a 12 cylinder, YOU need one...no question.

I [hate] to say it, but the raging bull, is exactly that...does give one to ponder that feeling :)

PS: our next house design, has an interior garage in the living room area, with a glass partition: need to have the horse with us, and just to look at. It is art...might as well show it .......

I agree. I like them in the subtle shades of blues and silvers. It will be my next Ferrari one day, but not while I have the Boxer. One beast at a time is more than enough.

Two best looking modern Ferraris (excepting the F40) right there. And in the right colors, to boot.

550s are nice but heavy IMO, having 2 modern Ferraris is a bit redundant, for a full Ferrari experiencego for a older 12 cylinder carbed model, very different from the modern cars with ps, big wheels and electronic suspensions that do everything so well, vintage cars are a much more involving driving experience and bring a great balance of old and new

true, however, I like to use the 'modern' ones more than often and found the older ones [minus the electrical issues] can spend less time in shop: what's your take?

BOXER!!!! I have a 308. a 550 and carbed 512...For the ultimate raw ferrari experience, the boxer wins hands down. The 550 is wonderful, but with power steering, really good AC, it's almost like a mercedes..even tho it;s a rocket,it'snot nearly as fun to drive as the boxer.

I love the 550/575 great drivers and they are different in personality then the F430/360 cars.

I have always loved the TR's. I have looked at a few and even drove one at the dealers. Compared to modern Ferrari they are dated in handling. They are just so beautiful, no wrong word, capitivating describes it better. I had planned on buying a TR, drove it, was disappointed and bought a 360 which I loved. Everytime I see a TR at an event my nose prints are all over the car.

Question: Do the later TR's say 1992-1994 drive different? Also the 1995 with the non flip headlights is stunning. do they drive better?

I am torn between new car handling versus the older cars panache. The older ferraris have a more soul. There is just something about them that graps a car person.
