After having many different sports cars in Feb of 2015 I finally bought my first Ferrari! It has been a wonderful experience and honestly not that bad as far as costs of running it. I am posting this to help other potential owners as far as maintance and costs of owning a10 year old Ferrari.

I purchased the car for a great price with a recent clutch job. The car had 34.5k on it when I bought it. It now has 41950 miles as of today. I have to say if you are thinking of buying one have the funds to sort it out and you will have a blast!!!

The following is a log of all the maintenance and repairs I have had during my ownership. So far my experience has been excellent. It's an odd feeling when you really do not get upset when something breaks or mailfunctions.. This car just makes me smile. I intend on keeping this car and adding a 458 in the future as well as hopefully a vintage one after that.

As you can see below a lot of the repairs were to better the car.. Sticky buttons, top repair to make sure it stays nice, headers great sound (have a new set of OEM also )

    Initial service
$2100- Svc /( oil, coolant, brake, filers, seals, spark plugs, valve cover seals, etc)
    $600 - tires back
    $900- interior sticky refinish

    $3600

    Svc/ repairs
    2015
    $2100- (March) F1 repair
    $1100- solenoid (July)
    $165 - battery (August)
$1080- intake seal / coil (sept)
    $350 - roof fin (July)
    $130 - roof patch (oct)
$180- rear right light outer (nov)
$2150- front tires & alignment ($750) + exhaust brackets/ screws for exhausts /and door strikes (Ferrari) (nov)

    $7255 total

    2016:

$344- annual service (oil change) 2/2016
    $900 headers (July )
$ 1521.00 - labor for headers and Thermo sensors
$200- rear light inner right replace (July)

    $2965 - total

    Total - $13820

Expect to spend money to sort out any car you get no matter the mileage. I have heard that when they sit they even have more issues

That all sounds about right. Greg, you can save some cash by doing much of the work yourself, it is very easy to work on the F430, fun as well! Valve cover and air intake seals, now that's a bit more involved but still do-able by competent DIYers.

$600 for rear tires but $1,400 (2150-$750 alignment) for fronts? And $750 for an alignment?

I am seeing very similar costs, will post once I reach the 1 year mark!

similar price to what I was quoted by a dealership.

They wanted 750 for an alignment and 240 labor/tire mount and balance....

Most was at Fine works in Boca Raton (Rob is exellent). One stop at Ferrari Palm beach (also great, deal with JR but it's a dealer so over priced) , Top fix Palm beach auto trim (Ponch is awesome).

Glad it helps... All the top repair was more for long term care.. The cable was the back bow.. Not a must but it bothered me. (I posted it in the past).

Let me clarify that was a copy paste from my iPhone log.. $750 of the $2150 at Ferrari was for the front tires installed and alignment. The rest of the bill was 2 exhaust brackets and 6 screw/spring set ups for the exhaust(freaking rip off).

I get tired wholesale so the $600 was installed and mounted for the rears

I did the complete 5 year at the start to get the car to zero.. This way I know the schedule. Now every year oil and every 2 years all fluids and filters.

Not sure exact on the valve cover deals because it was in the service. The gaskets are cheap. I would think a couple of hundred in labor... And yes my Indy did the work. He is awesome. The initial service would have cost me about $3.5k from dealer

F1 system is perfect now.. About 3 months in one of my f1 hoses burst.. From dealer 11k. From Indy, $1k.. About 2 months after had issue with lost pressure / slow down light.. Told Indy to replace the pump. He said not to throw parts..(dealer would have said replace pump ) He did due diligence and found a bad e diff solenoid... Since then all is well.

    Pays to have a Indy!!

Wow! From 11k to 1k, insane. Seems like you have a great Indy. I need to find a good one in the Chicago area for the more complicated stuff.
