I am about to sell my childhood dream--serial number 0732. Yes maybe stupidly, I am trading it for a 360 Modena, but after all the hassles, maybe a Modern(a) is the the way to go.

When I got my Dino, they presented me with with service book for car No: 01118, which clearly was not my car. Now if anyone on this site can prove to me it is your car, the manual is yours; free, gratis, and for nothing.

In taking this decision, I took a look around and found car number: 4324. Does anyone know anything about it--is it real?

And to all those that helped in suggestions on my gear box, which is now completely and correctly refurbished, and other fundamentals--I thank you.

The Dino will, and will always be, timeless. I shall miss the heavy clutch, the smell of oil and petrol and the heat--but I will enjoy my new paddles, the air con and the new noise from a Challenge exhaust!!

    With kind regards

    J

01118 isn't the car that book belongs to. it was made to address the changes that took place after that chassis number

    1994 until 1996 Kahn (?, F),

Thanks for that--it all makes sense now. It is being offered for sale in Indonesia, and it has no bumpers. It looks quite original for a fake, but a fake is a fake is a fake.

    To tx246

Again thanks for that, I wondered why they would so neatly produce service books individually numbered!!

Ok, so written inside the book is chassis 7322. So that is what it must have belonged to.

I don't think so, the book (print N° 45/70) is valid to car # 02130 only.

The book print edition on this service handbook is 48-1972. Written inside the book is the first owners name, A Benson of Texas. That information ties up with the Dino Register. It appears the car came to South Africa, as it has a South African postal box address in it too.

Ok, sorry, I was talking about the spare part catalouge. Book # 48-1972 is the 2nd edition of the Owners Manual for the 2nd Series (Typo M), also valid from car # 01118 to car # 02130.

    that`s very intersting :)
#07322 is 246 GTS European model, any idea where the car is today?
Is it still in South Africa?
(19?? until 1984 Chris van Moerkerken (Durban, ZA), 197? until 19?? G. Benson (?, TX, USA))

    Regards Matthias

PS: The Indunesian #04324 seems to be a renumbered car ?!

    Congratulations!
This must be a very happy day.

BTW, our moderator DM_n_stuff did the same but in the opposite direction; he sold his Dino to UroTrash so he could buy a Ferrari 360

    Thanks Scott

Maybe my post was unclear--I am going in the same direction. Dino to be replaced with the Modena.
