Have searched for a while and couldn't find something similar on the forum. Came along with my RHD QV several years ago was the clothe manual pouch with owner's manual, oil charts, warranty book, etc. But, the manual was not for a "QV" but for an "i" with a curious fuel consumption sticker for QV model attached. The car also comes with most, if not all maintenance documents, brochures, tax discs, etc. so I do think the owner's manual is original to the car. So, could it be that the QV manual was not available at Maranello Concessionaires or Greypaul, the selling dealer in early 1983? Any other UK owners experience the same or similar? Ferrari have done alsorts of things during model change-over - as an example I believe there were QV owners manuals produced in Autumn 82 but later in November they were still reprinting i brochures - what is the print reference of your manuals (2xx/8x format) ? In 1985 some change-over cars came with a temporary owners manual
The manual print reference shows "cat. 195/80 n. 1500" The warranty print reference shows "cat. 229/81/11 - 1.000" Whatever that means I have no idea... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is also a Uk QV, and my book says 248/82 n. 2500 Plus the manual has 308 quattrovalve written pn the front Image Unavailable, Please Login
So much like some models have new parts when the old ones are still being produced your car had a 1980 handbook and a 1981 warranty book (reprint) because either the new 1982 one shown in Sean's post was late from the printers or they still had a load of old ones to use up - simple !
Which year is your QV? Yeah I guess so, another Ferrari mystery! Still debating whether I shall get a QV copy or just keep the current 2V version.
Not expecting a 85 QV still issued with 2V manual!!! Any fuel consumption sticker like mine? I guess different market may have different requirements though.
Strange, very strange. No fuel consumption sticker, but it does have an added oil consumption sticker. Image Unavailable, Please Login . I never really looked at the manual in detail, always assumed it was original with car.
Must be UK requirement. Ok I just checked, I've got the identical sticker at the exact same location as yours. Probably done by the factory and issued to unaware new QV owners. So it's possible to have QVs with 2V manuals at least in Europe I guess. I'll keep mine and use PDF QV manual for more precise references for now.
It would be interesting to hear from euro 2v owners to see if they have the same oil consumption sticker, or was the sticker added in later prints say 1983 or so because of the known increases in oil consumption of the 2v's to cut down on warranty claims.
piezo and electrogunner, you both have the wrong manuals for your car. For piezo, it may be that the older manual was delivered with your car because the factory had old stock - for electrogunner, that manual didn't come with your car, it's likely the original manual went missing from a previous owner and a subsequent owner purchased a "close enough" manual. Luckily, the correct manual for a Euro QV (as posted by Sean308 in post #4) showed up in a Ferrarichat classified ad this morning: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/490159-ferrrari-308-qv-owners-manual-no-248-82-a.html That's the same manual that came with my 84 Euro QV. As noted by Sean308, the part number for the Euro QV manual is 248/82 n. 2500 - the 82 means it was released in 1982.
Piezo,Electrogunner, interesting, I've always suspected that my 81/82 GTSi was delivered new by Auto Becker in Dusseldorf ,Germany, with the incorrect GTS/GTB 1980 Manual. All the other original documentation is correct and present in the pouch, barring the manual. See, http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/458821-euro-308-manual-trade.html I've owned this car for 18 years now, and since I bought it with only 33k kms, and prior to me only had two owners [one for a month or two], I've always suspected that it was delivered with the wrong manual. This thread, and your experience, seems to corroborate that. That said, should any of you gentlemen find the correct manual and wish to dispose of your Euro GTSi/GTBi manual ,please PM me.
I seen it listed, inquired about it but didn't pull the trigger fast enough I need to get my trigger finger fixed. Anyone wanna trade a euro 2v for a euro QV? Manual that is. Sent from my SM-P905V using Tapatalk
They pop-up from time to time here on FChat and eBay, the 83 model one and the 84-85 model one. Euro versions differ from US versions. Ferrari Literature has them currently but very expensive, $325 each I think.
I think it's likely the problem with individual dealer. Some used whatever available from them that is closest to the right one it seems. There is an Euro 2V manual at Ferrari Literature now for $375... http://www.ferrariliterature.com/products/prodid/8034 (Note: This is a rather rare Euro version same as my current one, instead of US version as described in the description. The US versions are those deep green and dark red ones.) I've decided to get a correct QV version anyway and keep both manuals in the pouch.
