Is it just me, or is the Ferrari Owners site in serious need of help? If I click on "The new forum" I get a big blank white page. If I click on several other things, I get errors. Loading the login page and the first page after logging in are pathetically slow. They were slow before, but now they are just painful. I salute Ferrari for having the nice website full of info for their owners; but they really need to drop all the whiz bang techno stuff, and make a site that just works.
When Itried to get in from their newsletter it gave me an IM error! Edit: Looks like it is fixed now.
I tried to register yesterday and after three attemps just gave up. Page loaded for 45 minutes and was showing no signs of progress all three times.
All. Works OK for me. I just have a standard sign-on like the rest of you. If you can give me specific detailed problems I can forward them to the Factory. Cheers.
The biggest problem is that the site is slooooooow. You click on a page, then wait...and wait...and wait.....I have 3 megabit downloads....but it feels like I'm on dial up, using the Owner's Site. Dave
Its very slow and buggy, I can enter my user id and psswd click go to the fridge open a ice cold beer and drink it and come back i'll just be logged in. Ferrari needs to junk that Commodore 64 server and upgrade to atleast a Pentium 66.
...agreed, the owners site "blows goats". For a company with so engineering genius, they really have a crap owners site. I hope their JAVA developers never get their hands on an ECU. -Daniel
If you click on "forum" and get a white blank page it is your pop up blocker. Hold down ctrl key as you click on. There is also a glitch using AOL. The Blocker even if switched off won't go through your log in. You have to access the site via explorer.
It was slow on Tuesday and I also got a down for maintance message in the early afternoon. I had an issue with going from the owners site to the parts site. Jeff got it fixed.
Okay, I dusted off IE to check it out... Ugh... I hate sites that turn off my toolbar across the top. I hate sites that take away my back button and don't provide one. I hate sites that pop up stupid ads all the time. (I don't need any overpriced stuff, thank you.) I hate sites that only work properly in IE. (Even MS rarely does that.) I hate sites that are cumbersome to get into. I hate sites that periodically bump me back through the login. I hate sites that are unnecessarily slow. And with all that, there's not really a place to discuss many of my favorite topics... the Stradale, the 360, or the Enzo... hmmm... no place to discuss any cars currently under warranty! I wonder why that is? Doubt I visit too often... too painful. One post commented "Kinda like Fchat but without the mods."... not really true, but... no mods seems to be true... The Events forum (my other favorite topic) has four threads currently... two are duplicates... one is in the wrong forum (a Superamerica announcement for which there is a whole separate forum). So, 50% noise, and they're just getting started. The Tips & Tricks forum has 40% noise. The F430 forum has posts on 308's. But, I guess if you want to maximize exposure you can post on whatever you want in the busiest forum (the F430 forum)... which has 12 threads and 30 whole posts!
There is actually alot of great info on the owners site, I just don't have the time or patience to go thru it, and its frustrating when it bounces you out and you need to log in again, its hard enough trying to get through to F Uk to order parts or check the catalogue as you go thru the same issues and hassles. The owners site is technically and performance wise one of the worst sites on the internet, too bad it has good content.
