To sum it up lifted something & shouldn't have on my own, now I have the fun of finding a doctor that accepts worker comp claims. My family doctor for the past 20 years doesn't accept worker comp claims, so my company is trying to send me to a provider that does. Regardless of that, in the state of Texas I have a right to choose. If there is anything I can't stand is being on the phone jacking with all this B.S, within the first half hour I feel that I'm already getting the run-a-around. Mother of God this sucks!

I know your pain. 5 years ago on the job I slipped a disc, and I could barely walk for a week and was on Vicotin and muscle relaxants for three. The workers comp can be a real pain with all the paper work and back and forth. I still occasionally get a quick sharp pain that goes away from time to time when doing certain things. (Dr. said that I will have to deal with that from time to time.)

    Good luck with everything.

Make sure that after you establish a comp claim that nobody gets a chance to take pictures of you doing anything strenuous. That's a fast road to jail!

Yeah. My mom had a staffing service and she routinely hired PIs for people she thought were BSing. Caught several of them.

I am not trying to argue, but...

So you admit that you did this lifting incorrectly... And on your own... But your still filing a claim against the company?

You do understand that this will effect the company via the preimum they pay right?

I wish you good health, but how fair is this to your employer?

Just an honest question. I dont want to throw stones, I just want to better understand how an employee would think.

Thanks for everyone’s concern, I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow. As for lifting incorrectly I will agree with you there. After 5+ years of power lifting I shouldn't have rushed myself. My customer even commented that this job was too much for one person to handle. I didn't have a helper with me & on this job I really could have used one. I've spent most of the day resting & putting on back pain patches with a couple of beers. I’m feeling a bit better than this morning, I can walk without severe pain. Hopefully, I just pulled a muscle but I’m still getting my back checked.

x-ray and chiro if you can.

I'm unsure about the workers comp deal, but I can inquire with a fellow back cracker to check into it.

Advil and rest in the mean time. Hope you feel better soon Will! You gotta take care of your back - you only have one of em!

Don't use a doctor recommended by your employer. Even if they threaten to terminate you.

Been there, done that. Got screwed. My back will never be right again.

Does this mean we're not gonna see you for Second Tuesday?

Wishing for quick recovery. Take care!

When I had strained back (twice so far), chiropracter did wonder for me. I couldn't walk nor move w/out pain, but 2 days after the visit, pain was gone & I could walk, drive, and even carry my baby then.
