This was exactly my question. Will it be street legal???? Good luck Jim. If site hits were dollars, you'd be well on your way by now.
Napolis . . . best of luck. You are living our dream! As you construct your new chassis, please stay away from the Tyrrell P34 front wheel set up.
Very cool Jim! Is there a good way to get in touch with you/find info about sponsoring the car? The Vodka Ive been working on will be more than in production by then and since we are a Houston Texas based company it would be excellent to maybe get a place on the car. Not saying we can pay for all the space but wed love to have a bit of room on the car if possible and when the time is right. Thanks in advance, Ryan S.
A road car chassis won't work as an LMP1 chassis but various drive trains could. Some have speculated that 2014 F1 drive trains could work in 2014 LMP1 cars.
Jim, i wish you the best of luck. It's very nice to see that you didn't ''sit and relax'' after the the big success of the program P4/5 C. Now the only thing that i hope is to find the sponsors and continue to the Big Dream. The car looks fantastic and i hope that this will be painted red and not exposed carbon..! Best Greg
While I would absolutely LOVE to see a Ferrari-powered LMP1 car, the fact remains that to go up against the factories is going to be difficult and VERY expensive. I know a bit about GM's budget when they brought the Caddy LMP, and it was considerable. I also know that Audi spent "space shuttle" money on the R8 programme. I know Napolis has deep pockets, and I don't want to be a nay-sayer, but deep enough to put a credible developmental entry into the field? I suppose Level5 has done reasonably well, but that was not as much of a developmental, from-scratch effort, either, I don't think. It just seems to me there's the factories and then there's everyone else. And, if Ferrari can't show credibly, they may not want to participate at all. I would hope the Factory would be giving some level of technical support. Lastly, I'd also LOVE to see customer cars, as opposed to one-off entrants. I'd very much enjoy seeing a few teams running. Moretti's MoMo-sponsored 333SPs, Lienhard's Lista-sponsored cars and a few "occasional" one-race entrants, provided a very interesting field for Ferrari fans. Any thoughts to cars for customer purchase? CW
We would consider making customer cars and providing race support. It's VERY unlikely that we'll have any involvement from Ferrari. We do have interest from several serious drive train manufactures. We will also likely combind with several groups to design, engineer and produce the underlying tub and suspension. Anyone who is serious about running a customer car contact me. Or any sponsor.
I certainly wish you the best, though, on this project. We're working on something, but it won't be anywhere near as splashy as this. Maybe we'll see you at the track... CW

Perhaps as a base...but it won't last a full 24 hours, unless new rules then say they'll have to last 6 races. Maybe stroke the engine, rev limit from 15K (as will be the new rules by then) to ~8K. I believe the new rules for LMP dictate a max fuel limit per lap, so it could work... Maybe it'll be better to see what alternative there'll be when you come closer to everything; 6 months isn't a long time to purchase, modify and test an F1 engine for a completely different purpose! Good luck!
