That's what happens when you pre-purchase something without looking at it. Eventually the company will not put in as much effort to please its customers as much as they could if it's already got the sales and don't need to work for it...they lose drive/ambition to make it a home run. It probably has the worst side profile of any sports car ever.
Why should we move on. The car is offensive. It's offensive to reference Senna and link him to this aesthetic disaster. It's offensive to those who like good styling. It's offensive that McLaren think this is a design worthy to be compared with the F1. It's offensive to pretend that aesthetics aren't part of or are irrelevant to car design. Did Isis design this thing because it's sheer terror to behold.
The AMC Pacer and the Pontiac Aztec now have formidable competition, good god do I need eye bleach after clicking on this thread.
Little did we know how influential the Pontiac Aztec really was. It's revealed now that we see the Lamborghini 'Ureter' and the McLaren 'I'm glad Senna isn't here to see this attrocity.'
I'll be completely open. The 720 like it or not has SOME and I say 'some' originality and character. I like it. I don't love it. I like it and for the most part excluding its borrowing from the 458 respect it. This new thing from McLaren is horrific. They got a little over confident and goofed it big time.
720 dynos at 695-699 at wheels so 780 ish at crank. Why would this have anything less than a 720 for $1M? 800ps yielding 688hp/ton means it should weigh 2325#, or ballpark. Math is our friend.
I don’t care how fast this thing is, how quick it can turn a lap in. It’s awful. I wouldn’t want to turn up to a track in the car and be seen getting out of it.
I’m just glad there’s a factory tune for the 720 now. Makes P1 look cheap at 2-3M Design of P1, 720, and this thing? Bangle got a side job ruining Mclaren.
Obviously this car looks bad, but the technology to get the car that low weiguy is crazy, wish Ferrari would do that.
