Did the title get your attention?

I am looking for a kindly soul who could help me achieve a dream of mine. As I enter the seventh year of a project to re-create Jaguar's stillborn XJ13 Prototype race-car (complete with unique original prototype engine), I am now at the stage where the car is beginning to stretch its legs on track.

The car's first shakedown run took place at Curborough last week. I have now booked exclusive use of a Midlands circuit in early August and am looking to give the car a proper run. The plan is also to celebrate the centenary of Malcolm Sayer's birth and to assemble a collection of suitable classic cars to also run on track during the day. Many of Jaguar's surviving Project Team will also be present.

My dream is to see my re-creation sharing the same piece of tarmac as the cars the original should have lined up against in 1966 (possibly as early as 1965) - the mighty Ford and sublime Ferrari amongst others.

Can anyone help? Or maybe point me in the right direction of someone willing to join me with their car on the day?

    Neville

Try David Piper at Windlesham for a (recreated) P car. Not sure whether there are any genuine cars still in the UK but Paul Vestey used to have a P3.

Two other possibilities occur to me.

Ferrari fixer Bob Houghton (Bob Houghton Ferrari) used to look after David Clarkes P3 and P4 and still looks after several competition cars IIRC. He probably has excellent contacts.

Secondly, Terry Hoyle, who may take more tracking down as I believe he has retired. He did work for John Shirley, Lou Chinetti and the late Pierre Bardinon, Again, very good contacts in the European Ferrari world.

    Good luck!
