It was great to finally see the car in person. Lots of SoCal F-chatters in attendance! Feel free to add photos or comments. Damn you take good pics. I just wish you could have captured the sound too. Incredible how this thing sounds like a Challenge car on steroids.
Drew, I believe you read my article. Amazing photos, sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you. I've been using all of these pictures as somewhat of a "Where's Waldo" trying to find myself. All the times my buddy Arin said "you should have seen your face" you have caught on film. Amazing thing is seeing that while never seeing an Enzo before. Makes the Enzo already seem obsolete. As they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I have not seen the car in person, but from the pictures, to me it is one of the ugliest cars in recent memory. And this is coming from a person whom thinks 95% of all Ferrari's are a work of art...especially the Enzo! Oh well.
BTW, IMO the car looks just like the pics. I was expecting to see something a little different in person but found no difference from the way it's represented in photos.
The guy to Todt's right is Maurizio Parlato, President and CEO of Ferrari North America Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous!!! Very cool that Todt was there! I see he is enjoying himself on his time off. This week it's back to work!
Fairly certain that's Paolo Garella of Pininfarina - the Car&Driver article mentioned that he is in charge of special products. >8^) ER
the ONLY thing which I would reconsider it's the headlights ... too narrow for my taste a vintage P4 headlight's style would look better
And Michelle Wei (sp?) - famous actress and Todt's wife. Still can't figure that one out..... Anyone spot our SoCal VCR/FChatter in this pic? http://ferrarichat.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=375295&stc=1&d=1156231616
???? P 4/5 is totally street able, much more so than the Enzo. It has much less front overhang so driveways are no problem. It has twice the downforce of an Enzo, weighs 2640lbs with fuel and has much more tire which makes driving it in race mode/no traction control no problem. World wide GPS. On board Fire System. On board computer that holds entire car in cad including assembly/service/parts manual. Official car in Ferrari system. Any dealer world wide can pull it up, get parts and service. Entire car re plumbed/rewired for practicality and easy service. Car can be totally taken apart in 15 hours. Tow hooks/chassis tie downs if you get stuck an be lifted by any flatbed. 0-100KPH in 3 seconds. Top speed 235 mph. Already street registered and world wide street legal. (The Plate is real) Much more AC than Enzo. Can idle with AC on full for ever on 100 deg day. Already has 250 street miles. I could go on...
What a True work of art, and what a treat for fellow car gear heads,Its an amazing sight to get to see the Birth and its true working abilities for the street, I mean what a Honor to be able to see some ones dream and work of art come to life and to be honored at pebble beach!. F1 Superstar Status. During my stint at BMW R&D I was able to see all of this right in front of me for the 3 years while I was in R&D & prototype Road cars. See a car go from the drawing board and to real life.
In this guy's case, beauty is in the eye of the BEERHOLDER if he thinks the Enzo is a work of art, and the P4/5 is ugly. The Enzo is a work of the wind tunnel. The irony of that, is of course, that the P4/5 actually has better aerodynamic Coefficients while being much more graceful, yet still poised and agressive.
I wish I would have had a list of every f-chatter that was in Monterey this week. Was Derek there? I really regret not meeting so many of you who were there. And Dan, I think it's Michelle Yeoh. Wie is the teenage golfer.
In the past I think there was an F-Chat get-together; we should have done it this year. hahahahaha So I have a thing for objects of Danny Elman songs, and besides, Pebble Beach put me in a golf mindset. Thanks for the correction Frank.
