That seems like a huge vent for such a little Renault. And there's 2 of them no less!

It's not that surprising that they recycle parts from one production car onto another production car since you don't really want to custom manufacture every single piece. However, this is different for a race car, so it's a bit surprising that they used a production car vent on P4.

It's not quite in the same league, but you'd be amazed at how many Fiat 850 parts a Lamborghini Miura has (door pulls, rear lights, headlight buckets, hell, even the original light bulbs were Fiat). The Miura also has Renault vents, but not the same as P4.

    Jim is of course correct.
Big Tex, the architect is Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe or 'Mies'.

In the late 80s, I was working for an OEM supplier to Chrysler. And at the time, Chrysler owned Lamborghini. Dr. Marmiroli was Chief Engineer. He said that he welcomed any Chrysler supplier to come and work with Lamborghini as they didn't have time or resources to engineer into their cars components available in the marketplace. Bottom line, many of these small car producers were "kit" car makers. Lambo then only made its transmissions and engines in house. Everything else was bought on the outside.

Same vents in a Bizzarrini, a Renault 10, and a Miura.

Watch is, all of this talk about Renault 8 and 10 vents being used for other cars will drive the price of Renaults through the roof!

(although I'm kidding, this has happened with the Fiat 850 Spiders and read not that long ago a thread on a Fiat site complaining/lamenting about 850 parts are now very expensive and that they are going to the "rich" Miura owners)

The old B & W photo shows a RHD car.

How many P4/5's were RHD and why?

    Hi Jim,
Any idea where I might be able to source one of the Renault R8 Air vents shown in the picture?
Working on a P4 recreation and it's one of the last detail parts I'm searching for.
    Thanks, John [email protected]

Reach out to him through the SCG facebook page - as far as I recall, he 3D printed a few for the SCG 003 race cars, he might be able to hook you up with one.
