As I understand it the correct tires for the 85 308QV are Pirelli P7s for the 16" wheels; original USA delivery. For shows are P7 required? Are there any sources or what is the acceptable alternative? Car is in pre-buy, flash results are looking good, inspection will finish by Friday noon. Jeff
As far as shows, no, FCA does not require OEM tires for either platinum or major awards, as far as I know. My 328 shipped with Goodyear Eagles, and won last year at Concorso with Michelin Sport Pilots.
That is correct to my knowledge...replacement of wear items allowed.. Goodyear was early eighties....you are about right for the Pirellis mid eights........Michelins in the 70's LOL! So you are good no matter what!
Wanted to check. Eons ago had a discussion with Carle Conway about how FCA National judging needed to include consideration for something in the '50s having non-existant Engleberts. By the way the car is the prugna 85 308 GTS QV that has been discussed her on F-chat. Found it on E-bay but the deal is privately between the owner in New Jersey and myself. Pre-buy will finish by noon on Friday; flash report is that so far everything is fine. Jeff
You're right there BigTex. Also who had the silly idea at ferrari to try metric rims. Those 390's are shocking. Can't give em away. I've got a set. Have a hard waste collection coming up soon. Probably put them out there.
my 83 gtb qv still wears the original pirelli p7's...w/ only 9k miles on the car, they are in perfect condition and do not even show signs of dry rot. incredible! pcb
Anyone have a guidleine of 308 specific details to have in order for showing? I've heard about the license plate screws for 328s. Jeff
