I was surprised by how relatively "tame" that V12 sounded in comparison to say a Diablo 6.0, nonetheless the Zonda is a spectacular piece of engineering to say the least. Thanks for posting a such great vid...good find! Shaun
Actually, in real life it has quite the amazing sound, the video doesn't do it justice. It's a proper deep and violent V12 that wails and growls in higher revs.
Fantastic performer -too bad about the looks. I was at the N America introduction at the Concoursio 5 or 6 years ago and while the car had the numbers the package looked like a kit of parts.
I humbly disagree. If I win the lottery tomorrow, a Zonda will be parked in my garage the next day. The only decision would be coupe or roadster.
Great post!!! I love the pictures, and downloading the video right now. Looking forward to watching it! Pagani Zonda's are great cars. I really love the attention to detail in their interior and the reliable AMG motor! I was fortunate enough to see Pagani Zonda S and Zonda Monza in my friend's garage in Malibu, and they are AMAZING cars.... I hope the distributorship gets setup quickly and see more of them in the U.S. soon! Thanks!
nice car, didnt ever think the interior looked like that in a pagani. I thought it would look more like a race car, not so much luxiourous looking.
I'd take the Zonda over almost any exotic that I could but in the USA, except the Mclaren F1. Too bad they're not street leagle in the USA. If they were than Ferrari & Lambo would have to make some big improvements on theri V12 cars. The Zonda,in my opinion, is the best supercar.I'd take it over a CGT,Enzo,SLR and an MC12.
Unfortunately they only build 2-3 cars at a time, and they take 9 months to complete. They are entirely hand built Last year when we visited them they'd only ever built just shy of 40 cars, and that's since 1999, so IF you win the lottery you'll have to arm yourself with a bit of patience ;-)
They are working on establishing a dealership network in the US and are also working on passing the tough US crash and emission tests. For a small company like Pagani this could take time and is very expensive. But, I agree, when they hit the US market companies such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and other supercar manufacturers will have to take them quite seriously. The Zonda is an awesome machine, very light, fast as f!ck, handles better than almost all other street legal supercars and it still has a comfortable and luxurious interior. Owners can get their cars customized to their liking when they order it, anything they want they'll build/change, of course it 'may' cost a bit of $$$ ;-) Like the guy who bought a Zonda, loved it so much he ordered a second one but as a lightweight track car, completely stripped out, tuned, runs on slicks and the works, crazy
I read in Sports Car International mag. that 7 Zonda owners baught the Zonda Roadster... and kept theire hard tops.
