Dear William: Thanks for the post. P.S. It was my daughter !! LOL

I read about 1/2 of the article. I have to run now.

I have a handful of quick observations. Scary stuff - no doubt. Sure you probably do not want to take the material as gospel. However some points cannot be disputed.

#1. In the mid 1980's there were virtually no domestically owned cars in Bejing. What happens when other large groups of civilians, in large industrial zones in China, begin to acquire cars ? Where is the oil going to come from ? - Larger and larger demand from the worlds largest market !! Supply will not be able to keep up with demand. The price of oil would have to increase. What happens when our Wal Mart shoppers who are on a fixed income, have to pay an extra $300.00 a month in heating/cooling/electrical, and automobile fuel expenses ? Remember - We have not much in nuclear power facilities. Also another point - When was the last nuclear power plant built in the USA ? Early 80's ? Perhaps some older Nuclear facilities will have to be closed down ? What next ? Remember "whatever" changes we do, will take at least 15/20 years to feel any effect.

#2. We have lost manufacturing jobs for good in the USA. We build no electronics, ships, steel, low tech, and other heavy industries. We do have Boeing. However Airbus is launching a huge airplane, that is bigger than a 747-400. I saw that Airbus has quite a few orders on the books. It will not help, when the orders for the 747 will slow down.

You cannot make it on just Hollywood and Sports. China is an economic and territorial aggressor. For those who do not know, China has territorial ambitions that are not limited to Taiwan. They also have land issues with Indonesia, India, P.I. (Spratly Islands), and Vietnam etc... They quite possibly also have territorial disputes with other regional neighbors.

***I would also like to hear comments from people with a strong economic background.

It's just a "shocker page". Things will change and the USA will not run the show forever but it's not going to be the end of the world. Well, the Americans will think the world has ended.
