I already have a wonderful paintless dent removal guy, I am looking for a paint chip guy in the Clearwater Tampa area, that can do minor chip repair without wanting to repaint the entire car, like most body shops want to do.

They see the Testarossa roll in and the get dollar signs rolling in there heads.

I have very minor repairs that I feel a pro could handle very easily.

Hey Ken, how is it going man?

Depending on the size of the chips your best bet is to clean the areas out real well with prepsol or 3m wax and adhesive remover then lightly sand in the holes.

Use the touch up paint and a cotton swap or even a toothpick to build the touch up paint in that area up. Don't try to get it all in one or two applications, but built the paint up a little at a time, give it 30 minutes to cure then add a little more paint until the touch up area is slightly above and completely filling in the chips.

Its pretty simple. If you get it to that point (which I can do also) and let it cure for a couple days I can wetsand it and polish it out to blend it in. I can also refer you to a very good detailer in the area that also has body shop experience that is very good and blending in fix ups.

If you have questions on the technique or how to do it shoot me a call (I believe you have my number).

    Take care man!

    Todd

    Hey Todd,

Thanks, I would need him to come out to my place, to surmize what is entailed. Does he make house calls?

I have found that I do not have the patience to do that type of repair myself.

Also I am toying with the idea of opening a shop and sales office in this area, that sells and repairs fine exotic and semi exotic cars. Ferrari, Lambo, Corvette, BMW. Small family owned operation, but it is something that I have always wanted. I would like to include you in, to handle some of the extreme detailing projects.

I will definately keep in touch with you in the near future.

    Any interest?

I have some paint, primer, clear and spray. I am not to sure about the match. It looks real close.

It would need an expert opinion to tell if it will be ok.

    I will pm you.

Todd, can help you. He did not touch up my car but he did wet sand the hood to eliminate several love bug stains. He has the patience and does a great job.

Thanks Paul! I figured just the site of your gorgeous 360 with sand marks may cause a few heart attacks on this site :D. You handled it pretty well though :D

Do you have a number and what does he usually charge? Since moving back here from NC I haven't been able to find anyone who charges what I consider reasonable prices!

    Thanks,

    Joe

He just works in the Tampa Bay area, but he charges $50 to $100 depending on what needs to be done, but when its done, you can not even tell there was a ding or dent there.

Per panel or per ding? That isn't a bad per panel price. I have a couple of buddies in the area so it is doable for someone who is good at ding repair.

It kind of depends, I have been using him for some time now, so he cuts me a deal.

But if he does one ding its $75 or so, but he may pop out some other stuff for free while he is there.

Its really magic what he can do............well worth the price.
