    Hi all-

On a recent drive, the lower front fascia of my 1983 400i had an unfortunate meeting with a tall parking block and I'm in the process of repairing it. Since the repair is in an area that will barely be visible when fixed, it's something I could take care of with a can of touch-up paint, however I'm not certain where to look on the car for the paint code so that I can order it.

The source I've used in the past for touch-up paint is www.paintscratch.com, and they list 2 shades of blue for that model year: Blue Scuro (449) and Blue Sera Metallic Clearcoat (504). My car is the color of the 400i on the '83 brochure (photo below).

Thanks in advance for any help in identifying the color or location of the color code.

I believe the code should be on the inside of the trunk, near the lock. It is missing from my car, so I can't post a photo.

It should be on the sill of the trunk (not the lid), on the right side. It is easy to find when trunk is open.
