    All:

TIA for the advice and help.

I have a new F12. It is nero, I plan to drive it 4K or so miles a year, basically every day that weather is ok and that I don't drive my other sports car.

I heard about a place not too far from here....ESOTERIC AUTO DETAIL...is the name. This is in central ohio. They suggest that paint on italian cars is terrible and that you need to do a heavy amount of re-work after delivery to get the best appearance. They have done some incredible cars, Enzo, La Ferraria, etc.

I don't want to waste money on something I don't need to do, but much more importantly I don't want some dude touching my paint if it really not helpful?

    Anyone familiar with this?

    thanks
    Mark

Esoteric is great. Whether you need it or not is a judgement call. Ferrari paint is highly variable ranging from good to unacceptable. But one thing for sure is that after Todd is done with it, it will be breathtaking. If I had a black car I would probably go for it.

I'm originally from Columbus, and it's good to hear of a quality place in the area.

If you're doing 4k a year I would think a front end bra would be in order?

    Paint refresh or no

Esoteric Auto Detail is much in demand with collectors for their skill working with Ferrari factory paint. Todd will fly to other places for work on collections. You are fortunate if you live near their shop. Their results are breath taking to say the least. They have the products and the experience to bring out the best color and clarity in your car's factory paint. Go for it!

My F12 paint(as per the link in GreyBoxers post above)was shocking ex factory and is now perfect. Black really shows, probably more than any other colour, just how bad it is ex factory and just how good it is after detailing. Everything I have read, seen and heard about Todd suggest you should book in. The difference will be substantial and well worth it.

I would have it done. The correction you are having done is really to the clear coat. The guys at Esoteric can explain it all to you. I would also ask them about what they recommend in terms of your maintenance of the paint/ clear coat so far as washing etc. You wouldn't want to undo their work too quickly. Congratulations on your F12! The car is wicked in black!

I've had all five of my Ferraris corrected by Esoteric and I live near Toledo ... the Californias were the worst, one with a huge buffer mark in the middle of the trunk lid. They come out of Esoteric looking like wet paint, simply perfect. I have them put the Gyeon quartz coating on mine now. Step two is to watch Todd's videos on how to wash a car. After a year mine still look almost perfect but I know of others that he has done and a year later they are all swirled up bad. Step 2 includes throwing away your stupid California Duster!!!! and !!. California Duster's are responsible for destroying many fine paint jobs.

I also use a deionized water system to rinse my Ferrari's. You can wash then rinse and let it air dry and it ends up spotless. http://www.portablewaterdi.com/ I never use dry towels (even microfiber) to dry the car. And never never use regular towels, they will swirl your paint. Again watch Todd's videos. The methods are specific but very easy and don't take any additional time at all.

I'd advise anyone in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Kentucky to take their cars to Esoteric, it is worth the drive or transport fees!
