This stuff comes from the UK. anyone from across the pond ever use this? Maybe good for sticky parts? looking for something that is soft like the original.

I have no experience with that particular product but the stone guard products I've used are waaaay too thick to be used on interior plastic. There are soft touch paints available that can replicate the original finish. One brand was recently mentioned in a thread here but I can't think of the name offhand.

that was my question, because it must be a little thicker than paint, would it work on interior plastic?

    I would suggest a dye/paint vs UPOL .

Why not on interior parts? The original just seems like thick semi soft paint.

    Guys,

The OEM used a soft-touch coating. This was done in 2 ways:

    1) The soft touch contained the color (black) which is why you get that black melted mess....

    2) The soft touch was clear applied over a black paint. They used the clear soft touch in particular over laser etched graphics (icons, words, numbers that illuminate when back lite). When removing the clear soft touch, the remaining black will be more glossy as the clear soft touch lowered the sheen of the black.

In both cases, the soft touch is pretty thin.

Many folks (DIY guys) have tried all types of paints and some have gotten some great success refinishing parts. I too started off as a DIY guy and found a very good rattle can paint. However, even though the parts look good when initially painted, the coating is just not durable enough for use and wear and tear.

Our coatings are very durable and special for the application and we spray ours through an HVLP gun.

I applaud the DIY guy who wants to take care of his own parts - that's cool.

For those that want great results without the hassle, give us a call and we would be glad to discuss your specific needs.

Thank you and have a great weekend ;)
