Paint Gash

Arrgghh. I shudder everytime I take one of my cars in...

This looks too big to just hit with a touch-up stick, although the pics are kind of blurry. If it was my car, I wouldn't settle until I got a trusted professional opinion.

Find a nearby body shop that does high end cars and get an estimate. Red is hard to match without blending the repainted area - you'll notice it most under those parking lot lights at dusk. Maybe a professional painter could touch it up.

 

Sorry to hear about that. But it looks like a very minor scratch. They may go the cheap way about it and touch it up. Or they may respray the entire gaurd. Either way man,its not that bad a job,judging by your pics posted. As long as they do it properly mind you! Cheers!

 

Take it to a body shop and they can do a spot repair. Not a big deal , they can match the paint and isolate the area and do a respray. Maybe $200 to do. I think the bigger question is why didn't you rebuild the calipers yourself. Also why did you rebuild them were they leaking? This is a simple car and for the cost of a rebuild kit and an hour per caliper its a snap. Its part of the 308 ownership.

What is the "front cap?" The front section of the car?? $1000?? What a loser! They should be able to paint just the front gaurd and match the paint to the rest of the car! I put deep scratch on the LH lower part of the side skirt,around 2 inches long,with damage to the fibreglass. It was repaired and painted in 2 days for AU$200. And the matched the painted area(around 10 inches long) perfectly! Looks like nothing has ever happend to it now! hehe Go to another shop man,for sure! Get your baby fixed ASAP!

 

get a couple estimates for repainting the quarter panel, and then take it to someone to just blend in the scratch , should be able to do for 200.00 , but the quarter repaint est should be around 500.00to 600.00 . a ferari is no different than any other production car, the paint job is just crappier...

 

Sorry to hear about your mishap.
I saw a recent car show on TV a demo of 3M's latest paint repair technique which I felt was incredible; they took a new 911 and purposely put scratches in a panel. Considering that it was a metallic with a clearcoat finish the repair looked like new. The technique is used by many body shops; just ask about it.
I think your car will come out just like before the damage.

 

True, for touch ups like this. For full resprays - which this ain't - the design and imprecise fitting of the body, and amount of disassembly required, does make a difference. There's an excellent writeup on the "$10,000 paint job" or similar floating around somewhere...
