This maybe a dumb question but what shade of red are these 2 cars? I'm getting ready to pick a color to paint my car soon..... Is this the same red found on the 250 GTO? Image Unavailable, Please Login
This "Ferrari" red on a 206/246 should originally be "Rosso Chiaro Ferrari 20-R-190" by Glidden Salchi S.p.A., Milano. Very often these cars are repainted in a more modern, brighter Ferrari red which does not fit exactly to the historic color. The "Ferrari" red of cars from the 60ies like the 250 GTO is a little different, less shiny. What is the original color of your car? Is it that ugly that you do not think about repainting it to original specs?
The true color of my car is kind of a mystery right now. In the German book with all the Ferrari serial numbers (Forgot the name), it shows my car to be red with blk interior. The Ferrari website says my car was white. There is no evidence this car was ever white according to a few people who know the car well. The reds are so different in various light that Its hard for me to be sure which red I am looking at. Sometimes Rosso Chiaro will be identified as the color of the Dino in a picture but in person its completely different. The lighting plays such a big part in how the paint will look. So if anyone on Fchat can identify the color in a picture, I will have a better idea of what red is period correct and what is a more modern red. I like them all. Side question: Can I still buy the chrome trim around the windows?
Which chrome trim, the one running the length of the door at the glass, or the L that goes around the door frame perimeter? Regards, Alberto
I would like two trims ( left and right ) that run along the door tops at the bottom of the glass for my GTs, But they are unobtainium apparently. Graham.
Hi Alberto, I need both L shaped ones for sure, the other two at the bottom of the glass would also be interesting Simon
