I'm building a 1:12 Tamiya's Ferrari 641/2 and I have a paint color question. Hiroboy use to have a great database on their site for matching the right shade of red with the year of Ferrari cars including their F1's, so what the closest shade of red can I use? Tamiya has a small bottle of red paint (X7) that's available.

    Don't use X7.
If you want to use Tamiya, get a spray can of Italian red - TS-8. It is formulated by Tamiya to be exact match for the Ferrari red. It also gives you the option to spray it straight out of the can or decant it and shoot it through an airbrush. It will also dry pretty glossy and can be polished to high luster without clear coat, altho I like to clear everything.
If you are using and airbrush and plan to do more Ferraris in the future, I would personally walk into the first PPG authorized auto paint store and ask them for a small can of Rosso Corsa. I believe the code is 322. Ask them for 4 ounces and to make them ready to spray. that would be 8 ounces of paint for about $30 that should last you for the next ten years. But it would need to be clear coated for sure.
