Ok gents/ladies, Someone scratched the very front of my Plymouth the other week. It has a 8 inch long scratch right on the front of the bonnet. It is deep enough and looks to have been caused with a key of some sort. I have takebn the car to a good friend of mine who works in a well established body shop repair garage outside Glasgow. He gave me a quote to respray mose of the bonnet etc etc but he did inform me of the wonders that some companies can now fix these sort of things. He mentioned a company Touch-away but wasnt 100% sure if that was the right name. I have not found any information on this but basically i was wondering if any of you can provide some useful tips or companies that may be able to help me. If i need to get the bonnet sprayed then so be it. Rather annoying as this is the only mark on the whole car, believe me it is mint condition, 11000kms in 8 years. I attach a picture just because i like to look at it, it is of no use to anyone but who cares, I like it, need to get more!!! Your help would be much appreciated and by the way, I live in bonnie Glasgow. Regards, Matthew Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yep, have used these before, the guy in my area did a mega job on a dark blue mettalic mondeo that got quite badly scratched in my yard at work. £100 IIRC
Had them round today but they said they couldnt do it, shape of the bonnet apparently so a bodyshop job is indeed called for. Not to worry, useful to know these people anyway and it seems they have a good reputation.
Indeed so, but, to be honest, I am a bit mistified as to what they do do! I took a VW in there a few months back to get a quote on repairing some stone chips in the bonnet & the reponse was that I needed to get the whole panel repainted!! The scope of work that they'll undertake appears to be really quite narrow. I.
