Who is the best Paint Shop in the Greater SF Bay Area? I'm not looking for the most expensive, then charges double for a Ferrari. I'm not looking for a shop that is backed-up 6 months and you have to beg to get a slot. ~maybe this is asking too much?
I would only suggest Anthonys in San Rafael. They are truely the best and do Ferraris all the time Good Luck
Is it an older car? Do you want a complete bare metal repaint where all the glass and trim need to be removed?, or are you just feathering in something? When you start taking stuff off you need to make sure they know what they are doing to put it back together properly. I like The Works in Santa Clara. I have also heard very good things about Cambell Auto Restorations.
Campbell Auto Restoration in Campbell California Classic in Burlingame These guys collect a lot of hardware at the big events. If you're a Jag guy, Images in Campbell. Steve
Perfect Reflection in Hayward http://www.ferraripaint.com/ or Frank Zucchi Restorations in Pleasanton.
My car is at Perfect Reflections right now. I wouldn't trust it with anyone else at this point. They do Concours cars and Brian is real easy to talk to
Vijay, I had to re-read that twice, I thought you said "and brian is real easy on the eyes!" PS: you know how I know you're gay...
I would Suggest Lauto Body they have a life time warranty on there paint jobs and body work and all they do is great work. (714)271-9999.
I have been in the bizz for over 25 years! almost any good shop will warranty there work by the paint company they use! like PPG / DUPONT and so on... but that means the car needs to be done correct.. ground up paint..
Holy homos, Ben! I oughtta bang you for calling me gay... (not that there's anything wrong with being gay)
If you want a good solid paint job, but don't want to pay the inflated Bay area prices take it to Brian Moore Restorations in Gold River CA. Sacramento Area. He has been painting european cars for 30 years.
Yup, there are plenty of good paint people outside the Bay Area. Heck, you can send it to Junior and wish you had a water cooled credit card, but he does good work. I have (or have had) cars painted by Wayne Obry, Bob Smith, Junior Conway, Campbell Auto Restoration, The Works Auto Body, Charles McCabe, Bob Potts, and Charlie Potts (California Classics). I've only seen the work of the others. Another guy that does good work is Timo (I believe TTR on this site) in Riverside. If I'm laying down the green, it's Campbell Auto Restoration. The only real downside there is you may wait 18 months or so for a slot to open up. Steve
Steve: Does Campbell auto restorations do metal work as well? I may end up doing a complete paint job next year and may need some metal work in the rocker panels.I also concerned about the door fit and reassembly of all the trim around the windows, etc.
