On the 360 below the air boxes is a black aluminum housing which runs across the car side to side and says Ferrari on it between the airboxes. The paint on mine started to bubble so I am stripping it and repainting. The texture of the piece looks like an orange peel. Wrinkle paint will not be the right finish. Does anyone know a black paint that will reproduce this textured finish. May if I pull the spray can back a bit it will introduce a textured finish.

    Thanks

Years ago I had a Fiat X/19 that had a similar coating on the rocker panels. It was damaged by road debris and had a gouge in it. To make a long story short I obtained a spray can of a textured coating from a automotive paint supplier. Easy to apply, but it is not colored and needs to be painted. Hope this helps.

That's the stone guard coating -- flexible to avoid chipping. I think these days it's an additive to the paint.

Ended up using that rust oluem textured paint then giving it 5-6 coats of high temp paint over it . Came out well.

What temp is regular spray paint good to. How hot do you think the airbox across from the muffler gets

I didn't use hi temp paint -- just regular Rustoleum. I think the heat helps bake the paint.
