Can anyone recommend a paint shop to do some minor (I hope) rust spot repair/stone ships on my 77 GTB windshield and door edges. I have looked all around the areas including inside and it looks like just surface rust about 1/4 inch long in both places.

    Thanks

Yes, the new shop in Cumming fixes Ferraris. They can paint and maintain Ferraris and just about anything else. Flashback Motorworks 770 781 8989. They do remarkable work, my Jaguar will be there next week for a paint job and tune up.

Mitch you make it sound like the work will only take 1 week--ANY quality paint job will take 3 months minimum.

Ya know, I have no idea how long it would take. I have seen their work, and it was really, really good. I'm restoring a 73 Jaguar with their help.

That is true. I am still finishing up a paint job that did. It takes a long time. I just now finished color sanding and buffing. It looks very nice. Painting is 95% prep, 5% actual painting. Then if you get into color sanding it is almost just as much as prep.

While Flashback Motorworks may be great,I just don't know as I have never seen their paint work, Bo Pirkle has been an experience Ferrari paint and body man for decades and has no rivals to my knowledge. Call Bo at 770.939.6982.

    Jonathan....

What have you done to my car!!!! ;)

I honestly dont recall any bad chips or rust spots, where are they located? I have a some touch up paint up here along with all the other parts that went with the car. BTW: come get all this stuff, the wife is threatening to sell it on ebay ;)

My Daytona is at Bo Pirkles right now getting some stress cracks repaired and one rust spot from a rear quarter window drain. Bo really knows these cars and he does flawless work. He is really pretty reasonable on price, he is VERY slow, his shop looks like a total dump and the quality of paint work that he puts out is truely phenomenal.

I live in Cumming so a shop here is clearly pretty convenient. Still.... for paint work the car will go to Bo.

How is the car running otherwise? You taking it to the Walter Mitty this weekend?

Bo is not bad, would tend to say the best in Atl, BUT,you do not see 99 point show cars coming from his shop either -- all the show winners come from NC,NY,CON,CAL--no one around ATL for that caliber work.

The car is fine, as I said very small stuff : a chip on one of the fender bottoms and a very tiny area with a bit of surface rust on the other door. I am very fussy I guess about paint. The car has been driving great. I took her to Road Atlanta a couple of months ago for a track day and everthing was fine. The car pretty much keeps up with everything around the bends but gets killed on the straights by the M3s and Corvettes. Still it was 20 years older than pretty much everything else out there.
I am in England at the moment but will be back in a week or so and will come round to get the stuff, I promise. Sorry to take so long.
How was the Walter Mitty I wish I could have gone, will try to make the Ferrari Challenge and I guess British car day is also coming up.

    Regards

    Jonathan
