    Any thoughts on painting the plenums? pros /cons

    I had mine powder coated red. It improves the looks of the engine. Nothing worse than opening the engine cover to look at boring black every where.

    Any paint to recommend that can be applied w/o taking the plenum off?

    If you really want them to look good, take them off! Drive around a little while and look at some of the brake calipers on some of these "race" Hondas. These kids painted them on the car and they look like crap! This applies to ANY car, if you paint an engine part, take it off the engine first. It will be MUCH easier to make it look nice. I know, you'll have to replace gaskets and so forth, but it's better in the long run. If it's a decision of painting them on the engine or leaving them in natural aluminum, I'd stay with aluminum. Take your time and it will look good. Hurry and it will look like you hurried. And by the way, you can get good engine paint at most auto parts stores.
