    Does anyone know a art dealer that would value and buy a painting in the Chicago area? I received this painting from a friend as a gift and was trying to sell it, but I don't know what the value is.

    Your best bet is to send four of five detailed photos of the piece with a size reference. Front and back to show the frame if it's an older work. Send a few of these photos with a written description and letter to a handful of dealers. Finding numerous locations online shouldn't be an issue. Getting a ballpark as far as purchase price is concerned should be pretty easy.
