    hey guys,
racing the vintage porsche at PBIR (formerly Moroso) this weekend, staying at the PGA National. is there a hip, trendy, South beach style restaurant/ lounge nearby without me having to go down to clematis st or cityplace?

At the PGA mall there are a few places. There is a Brio there, it ain't bad.

    Midtown offers:
Three forks or Vic and Angelo's for steak.
Spoto's Oyster bar or Oakwood Grille
Cantina Laredo for high quality Mexican

    Downtown at the Gardens offers:
RA sushi is nice with a good outdoor seating area.
"the grape" which offers a tapas style food selection with (obviously) lots of wine to choose from.
Rosa Mexicana is good, but not outdoorsy if you want uber quality Mexican.
Strip house and Yard House restaurants are a little more sports bar oriented, not South Beach style at all IMHO.

    Legacy Place offers:
Amazonia - a Brazilian Churrascaria (Legacy Place is on the south side of PGA just east of I-95).
Koolah Fish Bar - great seafood with a few other offerings.

On the water (PGA and the intracoastal)
Season's 52 (great, fresh seasonal food).
    Riverhouse - steakhouse and seafood.
Panama Hattie's - More of a party atmosphere, but simple food, occasionally live music.
Waterway cafe - similar to Panama Hattie's, but more popular.

Palm Beach Gardens is a driving community with only a few newer places that are pedestrian friendly, all of them at Downtown (between I-95 and the Gardens mall on the north side of PGA east of I-95) or Midtown (which is between Military and the Turnpike on PGA - both sides of PGA). You really have to go east to the waterway, then north or south to get cafe style dining.

None of the places mentioned are bad, Waterway and Panama Hattie's have the lowest quality of food, and the largest crowds typically. All of the places mentioned at Downtown, Midtown, and Legacy place are outstanding in my opinion.

Oddly enough, the most popular place in Palm Beach Gardens is the club in the Marriot just south of PGA on the east side of I-95 (Club safari). It opened in the early 80's when I was in high school, and is still a popular place.
If you want a really trendy fully packed night club, you better go to Cityplace off Okeechobee about a mile east of I-95. Blue Martini, Taverna Opa, Bar Louie, Resort night club... On Clematis in downtown WPB is Monkey Club (assuming they are still open).
The younger crowd generally goes to Cityplace, and people who work during the day can be found at any of them.
    :)

I don't really go out, the list is from recommendation of friends / coworkers...
Have fun! If Club Safari is not good for you the Cityplace clubs are about 10-15 minutes away.
    :)

Glad you enjoyed the restaurants, sorry to hear about the mechanical troubles. Next time I'd like to come out to the track if I don't have anything else scheduled to watch the racing. I enjoy watching the racing more than participating.
