Any of you folks coming to the Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance on Sunday June 27th at Stanford? It looks to be a great gathering of cars. I've enjoyed this event in past years, and it has really grown in stature to become a prominent Concours. Here is a link if you would like to find out more:

It looks like it makes more sense to enter your car for exhibit (not judging) than to just buytickets.

    Anyone else in?

I signed up to be on the grass. Provided the paint job is finished...

    Luke,

I hope to see you there. I'll bet your car will look very nice freshened up (although I thought it looked pretty darned nice before).

If you stroll beyond the Ferrari area, look for my red Miura.

Nothing makes the gas in veins boil like a Miura, but I suppose the GTE should make a good impression, too. What I have seen so far was impressive. I even brought the painter a very nice case of wine as an early bonus
    :)
I should be picking it up next Wed. I think most bits are on the car. Chassis paint and detail remain. Here is where she was 2 weeks ago:

    Luke,

You must be anxiously awaiting the return of your beauty... we shall have to celebrate her phoenix-like rebirth!

looks like I am out ! Painter had a setback, door got scratched during assembly. I will have to show it off on a local drive, instead. If this paint job lasts any longer I might buy another Ferrari on account of having withdrawal symptoms. Argh....

I have been seeing your car a little more often in front of the gym....Hopefully some scotch tasting will not ruin your new found discipline.

I think a little scotch will be better for me than all the guinness of late... :D

I went to the registration and information form and couldn't tell which actually will let you park on the grass. I've been to the event before and do not want to park my car in the dirt parking lot! Which option would let you exhibit your car and park on the grass?

not unlike a soap or a political campaign.....
Just got a call to pick up my car on Saturday, one day before the Palo Alto show. Provided I make it back from Livermore, I will be at the show on Sunday. What do you know...
Say hi if you come around (silver GTE).

    thx

    Dan,
I'm not sure what you mean by an exhibition pass? If you mean entering your car for display in the Concours, the event is all full. You should come in any case, it looks like it will be a nice gathering.

Gil is right, the field is set with over 430 cars. There is no room for any more entries. This year we have 39 Ferrari's entered in 2 classes. For those that like to compare, we have an Enzo, Carrera GT, Saleen S7, Lambo's, 959, 288 GTO, and a Jag XJ220 all in the same display. A retrospective of all the Viper models over the years is another display. The featured marques are Rolls Royce (37 Classic's entered) and Thunderbird (83 entered including the 1st Bird made). We are trying to talk one of the RR owners to bring the Gatling gun trailer that goes with his 1925 Rolls Royce used by a Maharaja for hunting in India. Palo Alto Police are nervous. :)

Hope you can make it as it's shaping up to be the best show we've had.

I would love to tow a little gun trailer while I commute. Next best thing to buying a used white Crown Vic.

Here is the Indian Royalty "hunting car", a Rolls with a gun trailer. Also, my GTE, Gil's most excellent Miura, and a barchetta red and blue GTEs of Rick and Dick, real car guys both of them. Speaking of which, also ran into Dan and his crew. A good time was had, including a visit from the family in the battle wagon.
Pictures are from a treo 600 phone, so it is more about info vs, quality...

I was not expecting to see the collection of cars that was out there. I loved it, the vintage Ferraris, Aston Martins, MBs, Alfas... Very nice event.

Those are pretty good photos for a phone camera. It was nice to see your Ferrari with a very nice finish.

Awesome event this year. Never seen so many new supercars in one place before in the Bay Area. Not even at the SF Auto Show. Too bad the new Merc SLR wasn't there. Missed the S7 (did it show?). Anyway, here are my Ferrari pics. Enjoy.

Enzo (cops had their own display; these guys weren't derelict ;))

That looks like a CHP posing with the Enzo! Is he getting ready to write him up? The car looks fast even standing stil! Great pictures by the way...

    Matt,

Wish I had hooked up with you there. Always nice to see Gil, Luke, etc. - lots of familiar jokers as always!

Luke's car is looking better than ever. Absolutely awesome. And Gil's Muira... few would suspect that such a lovely, pristine looking car has led convoys of cars rocketing through scenic passes.
