Anyone else catch the comparison on BBC American that Top Gear did on the Panamera, the Rapide and the Quattroporte this week? I thought I did not like the looks to the Panamera, but the Top Gear boys took it to an all new level of displeasure. Car has amazing stats and pace, but it reminds me of the previous 7 series BMW (The best place to be is inside the car so you do not have to look at it).

It's an old episode. I still don't like the Panamera.

The QP in that episode was amazing. Love the sound and look of it.

I actually like the looks of the Panamera. I missed the full 1hr 15min version on Monday, but caught the clipped one on Tuesday.

It looks great inside and out. They just seemed to "show more to it".

I have a Panamera, and although in some angles it is a bit ungainly, it is a terrific car with a fabulous interior. Also in the right color, with right tire and wheel setup it looks pretty decent. Kind of a acquired taste. Most important it drives very well.

"Let me show you... Derelicte!! It's a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique."

In all honesty, the Porsche Panamera does not photograph well. However, I saw one on the road a few weeks ago and thought it looked pretty good. Admittedly, it's not as pretty as the Maserati Quatroporte, but it's certainly not a bad looking car. :)

As for Bangle... I'm not a great fan of much of his work with BMW, but for some reason the 6-series really floats my boat. I think because it left off much of that "flame surfacing" stuff was left off the 6-series. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Funny I think the opposite... In pics the car has awkward proportions, but to me looks "OK".

There are enough Panamera's in ft lauderdale / miami that i see one every couple days and it always looks odd to me. From direct front in sits too high, and side it's too long. JMO...

On the plus side,... love the inside. And the trunk / hatchback volume is cavernous.

Awesome episode. Cant say that I agree with everything, as I think the Panamera is an amazing car.

Glad to see it held its own on the 'short course' they put together in the business park.

Granted it is not as flash as the Maserati, or Aston, but it still does have a nice look to it.

I was a bit surprised in that episode that they didn't fall all over themselves for the Aston more than they did. Seems like a synopsis of the Rapide they had was: "nice, pretty, ummm...but that is what we expected."

To use the cliche comparison of the woman/car, the Panamera seems to be like a woman who isn't strikingly beautiful, but whose looks can be appreciated over time. Maybe not the best figure in the world, but knows how to use what she has got to full enthusiatic effect. In the real-world probably a much better partner than a gorgeous woman who relies on her looks to control her man, but promises much more than delivers.

I think the best looking Porsche either has to be the 964,993,or 996.
    Just my opinion. ;)

I'll wait for the 6 door version of the Panamera before buying one. Five doors just isn't enough!
