haha i guess so my friend!!! haha was there any backpressure issues mate? and the sound....i can't seem to find it on youtube.....does it howl at the higher rpms or sound that much louder but "bassier"?
One thing to note is that all of the factory systems join the two halves together (even the challenge setups) so I think you may gain a little more by having an X-pipe or y-pipe or similar to get scavenging from each bank. It'd be worth testing out.
What he means is the exhaust pipe from one side of the engine gets joined with the exhaust pipe from the other side of the engine. By doing this the pulse of exhaust that blows past the merge helps drawn the exhaust from the other side. In other words, the engine has an easier time exhaling = freed up power.
thanks for the explanation....on my search on exhausts, i came across that you had opted for the X-ost system.....you still have it on? oh wait, that was PAP....u went for a Goth system right? and what's your input on having no mufflers at all? ie just straight pipes out with no cats but with a an "X" or "Y" connector.....i read some think it can lead to the exhaust valve getting burnt due to lack of back pressure....any input guys?
It'd depend on the fuel maps, I don't think it'd matter in open loop mode when you're just driving around, but I believe these system run closed loop (set fuel maps) on WOT and if the engine needed more fuel with the open exhaust, it might run lean and burn up. Did the 348 challenge cars have different chips than the standard cars? On the 355 I don't think they did, so at least the m2.7 cars should work ok with a straight through exhaust.
