Well put it this way PP. When he checks over your bent 355 with his devil eye , dont fall for his "bend over and show me the problem"technique! He may suprise ya
No it won't. My guy is already primed to make some more.. he still has the samples. as soon as he gets in tomorrow, he'll check. IF you just need to machine the minor diameter out a bit, you can do it up there straight away and fit it, and send me the machining bill, or you can wait for some more new ones to come. I'll have the machining instructions sent to you. IF the major diameter is wrong, New plates will be on the way to you on Tuesday morning, my guy will know if this is the case in the morning. My hunch is that they just forgot to machine out the minor diameter (Ferrari don't use standard ANYTHING).... easily fixed, but massively annoying.
Hey guys, I know I'm neanderthal when it comes to mechanical things but it just doesn't add up how someone can see 1.5mm difference from the photo posted here. Either it's a joke or wog boy has seen it in person or one of you gurus is going to explain.
Hehe, tell him to throw the samples in the bin Phil. But yeah man,ill double check it tomorrow, you may be correct. Ill pop in and see my machine guy and see if can machine them a little. Should be able to do it for nothing anyways, well a carton maybe But ill re-check the measurements 1st. They forgot cause they were on the crack pipe hehe! Its cool
Thats farked man, i hope the whole clutch thing works out! And im adding more wogness to this thread. wog.
I'm confused. Is the clutch gonna fit or not?. And what's wrong with an original clutch from Ferrari?
I'm going to have to get a digital camera and put some photo's up here. I've got the clutch out of the LM, (when I replaced it), and it's just a wonderful piece of racing clutch, sinted bronze, twin plate all that stuff, that YOU understand and I don't. AND more for you..............a mechanical engineer told me that a ceramic clutch will stop a car quicker than a normal clutch due to something about drag coeffients etc. etc..........I'm gonna get the exact quotation from him and post it so YOU can see.
hey...just cos you're a mechanical dummy, that doesn't mean i'm a mechanical genius! I can sort of understand how a lightweight clutch might make a car stop quicker...MAYBE...but whether or not that's really the case, i have NO idea
I need a drink. I got that wrong. I meant to say Ceramic BRAKES. (not clutch). Ceramic brakes stop a car quicker than normal brakes (yes we are back to that argument again)
i'm sure that any pics you posted here, be it F40 clutches or just F40's, would be very well received Gil.
no they don't. ask carl. and we're not talking RACING (although, even then, if you can stop steel fading, then it's much of a muchness) apart from the rotational mass, the difference in which would be negligible.
Ask CARL, is Carl a mechanical Engineer. Carl's a lovely bloke , but I don't know if he's a ME. (not medical examiner) BECAUSE IF WAS AN ME, ID HAVE HIM EXAMINE YOU (did you like that)
Hey Gil,the clutch doesnt fit,at the moment The original ferrari clutch was goin to cost me $4612 for the standard clutch kit. Phils race clutch cost me half that and hopefully will hold up to my driving miss daisy cruises in it
it does make sense from a laydude perspective... we're not just taking into account their static mass, but how much does each extra kg weigh when the wheels are doing xxxxrpm?? less rotational inertia would make it easier to grab onto, leaving the rubber as the more influential force on braking applications... as it should be really.
