A number of these were built in Germany as well, I saw a brand new one at Auto Becker back in the days. Along the same lines a Bocer was also converted for Helmut Becker's birthday.

Wouldn't the lack of rigidness in the body cause this design to degrade a great deal? Unless they beef up the frame wouldn't torque (twist) be extreme? Ive always heard the GTB's hold up better over time than the GTS for that very reason. Joe
