Parenting road trip 2024

It's always good to meet one's parents every now and then, so 1,5 weeks ago on sunday we packed up, fired up the V8 and reversed the 'rari out from the garage:

Then we hit the road. We had a little driver/co-driver service stop after about 100km and noticed that Qashqai is quite big car after all:

Then, on the road again. A little stop to visit my childhood friend who hasn't gotten near a Ferrari before. I gave him an introduction and a test drive. Not so surprisingly, he liked the car and it's drivability a lot. After that, few kilometers left to my mother's.

We ate and talked the most evening, slept and on the next day after lunch we hit the road again. First we stopped to see Ilveslinna and Jänsänkoski (the rapid water) at Jämsänkoski (the village):

From there we drove forwards, stopped to refill the gas tank way before the student light came on (about 60l and the tank was full) and drove to my fathers. I also gave him a test drive as he had never driven a Ferrari before. He noted that the car is great to drive and also that his Mercedes is nicer to travel. I actually agree on both, but I'm still not getting a Merc as I don't want one.

During the evening we enjoyed the sauna and hot tub, ate well and talked through the evening. The next day, once again, we fired up the V8 after lunch and started heading home.

I might pull a little bit towards home here, but I really do like the Finnish forest and lake scenery, the countryside here is absolutely gorgeus:

...and then back to home via the curvy roads, not the straight ones. The curvy way is shorter and slower, but a ton of funnier. At home the trip meter said 612,5km, so by this small test I'll mark the 348 also as an excellent travelling machine.
