I don't know anyone, so can't make appointments. I wouldn't know who to appoint. But I could go along on the first evening just to enjoy the atmosphere. Like most on here I just love old stuff, including cars. Anything interesting but 50's and '60's Italian and pre-war French cars are my favourite.
You can't be serious. Please try to get some real chocolate, from Switzerland (Sprüngli, Läderach, and the like), especially while you are in Zermatt. Marcel Massini

I thought you'd like that. I've spent a lot of time in Switzerland too, and the chocolate is good. The beer is the real reason I'm going to Belgium. I just added chocolate to make me not look like too much of an alcoholic.
Getting to Mulhouse by TGV is actually pretty fast, 2h40 mn only. As for the chocolates, the French are actually renowned for dark chocolate. Have a try at Patrick Roger, Jean-Paul Hevin, La Maison du Chocolat, Jacques Genin, etc...
Beer may be good for making Bratwurst but otherwise not fit for human consumption. Make mine Bourbon, preferably from somewhere near Bardstown, neat with Swiss chocolate. They go very well together.
Sees HQ is in my area, just down the road from Roy Brizio Street Rods. My Grandmother once applied for a job at Sees on the manufacturing line, but her hands were too hot! Back in my youthful SF biker days, when everyone had airbrushed art of skulls, or naked women on their bikes, I had Mary See on mine! Oh yeah, those dirtbags rode HDs, I was on an Indian. Still am! And still have my first bike; a '47 Chief that I've been around the World some 4 times on. As for Retromobile, I attended for the first time last year. It was epic. But I was after parts, not whole cars. The parts swap meet area was very small when compared to Bologna. But the finished cars available were second to none. It was like an indoor, European, Pebble Beach! Paris is usually COLD that time of year!
you may go to imola in september. all around the race track there are a lot of booths found there for my 250 GT/E front hood, bumper front, exhaust manifolds, tail lights also for my 3 cylinder kawasaki a lot of nice and rare parts, but also a lot of junk there
I lived for awhile on the border of Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg near the Bodensee so I am familiar with that. The legal definition of food I think is beer and bread.
Meh...I went to Padova 2020 and Bologna 2023; mediocre compared to Retromobile no comparison, not at all on the same level.
Padova or the new auto moto d epoca in Bologna are two completely different styles of show's compared to Retro …. I go to buy parts at the Italian show…. I’ve been gong to auto moto d epoca like Retromobile for the past 15 years… I love both shows for different reasons …..
Just to be clear, Padova is no more, that event now takes place in Bologna, much bigger and easier to reach. Marcel Massini
Some of the best chocolate comes from Central America, and a few other 3rd world countries. It is ironic the end result (some of the best) is made in Europe. We roast Cacao beans here in El Salvador, and make some pretty mean 100% black chocolate. Straight from the plantation, of course. Cacao beans are fermented before processing, just like coffee beans, and most people do not have a clue about either... See's is so commercial, it is sad. Small non-commercial batches is the cat's meow. Crazy good. Come visit Regards, Alberto
