My 488 is WIDE, with the mirrors. I probably have 1.5 inches of clearance on either side of each mirror if I center the car perfectly between the garage door jamb

Parking takes forever and is stressful for me.

Any tips or gadgets? My concern is more about side to side vs stopping at the right place.

Try place some tape length wise on the driver's side so when you approach you use the tape to line up your entry. Bit like they do in F1 where the driver gets the wheels in the right spot for the tyre change. I have taped a section for the rear wheel and front wheel on the driver's side to line up in as I reverse into my garage that way I know I have the car exactly where I want it and I have reversed in straight.

You do retract the mirrors don't you?

I hung a wide mirror in front of my 4 post lift which would help me line up on the ramp solo. Perhaps a similar mirror on your wall would help you gauge the side to side clearance as you drive forward.

Reverse park; if you are not already going so.

Far easier to see the garage doors against your car in the wing mirrors and much easier when you leave.

Most Americans don't know how to back into garages or parking spots, let alone understand all other benefits of doing so.
Took me a while to teach my wife, but now she can't understand why most people aren't doing it, including none of her siblings.

you can mount some hard rubber runners on your garage floor, tapered out at the garage door so that it's easy to get in between. Just make sure to get them low enough so that they dont rub against the rims, but only against the tire wall.

Thank you. Do you have a picture of this or a source to purchase?

Can't back in because per the other posts as there is a post that would block the car door if I backed in or out.

    Something like this?

But there probably is some lower and longer models that would work better to use as a wheel guide as you pull in.
