Any thoughts on the new Lexus that parks for you? How much does that option cost? Having your car park for you? Your own personal valet... sort of.

What if it messes up and crashes your new Lexus or ramps you onto the sidewalk into foot traffic?!?!?!??!??!?!?!?!??!!?!??!?!?

Not to be rude (please don't take offense), but this is a Ferrari forum. Why are we even wasting our time with a lexus? Why not go "ooooo" and "Awe" over your Ferrari (s) or Lamborghini (s)?

Well, maybe to ask how soon before they start adding parking assist to exotics. Who would have thought they'd make an automatic Ferrari? Reverse sensors? The list goes on.

Doesn't your 308 have the parking assist option? It makes a crunching sort of sound up front when you think you're near the curb. When you back up it's more metallic-sounding.

The world has become too damn lazy to park on its own. If you can't parallel park, you shouldn't be driving in the first place.

The special cracking fibreglass option then leaving paint marks for future reference on the parking curb, followed by loud profanities and sometimes uncontrolled sobbing by the owner.

This is the beggining of the end. First it'll be parking assist, then auto-driving cars.Oh it'll be an option at first but then when theres less accidents itll be required like airbags or seatbelts, but youll still have the option to turn off for non-public roads. Then eventually we won't even get an off switch and we'll all be sitting in cars that we can't/aren't allowed to drive anymore.

    I sure hope so.
Just imagine all the idiots that see cars like nothing more than a moving chair to go from point A to B, won't be getting into accidents, will not be screwing up traffic. That would leave more empty roads for us with out "old cars"

When I cant back into a parking spot anymore I will hand in my driving license. Lexus has gone far and wide to push aside MB, trying to out manuever them, and in some areas they have succeeded, but I could never stand copy cats. If I wanted a car that looked like a Mercedes, I would buy one, just like if I wanted a bike that looked like a Harley. If our nation had any balls they would put a complete ban on any car having a system like that. Force people to know how to drive, or get them off the darn road. The worst part is it will probably take the car 2 minutes to park itself. Its one thing to have the occasional 90 year old in the Buick having a hard time, but I have alot of patience for that. When its some 30 something soccer mom fixing her face in the rear view while the car is holding up traffic I am gonna get irate.
