Hey there guys. I would like to explain my situation here: I got a ticket for Parking during prohibited hours (USD 25) but here's the problem: The officer didn't write my license plate correctly. So when I try to pay my ticket online my car doesn't show up on the records and it has been almost a week. I don't know what to do...because I think it was the officer's fault for not writing the plate correctly, not my fault. Has anybody here gone through this situation before?

I would wait and do a check with parking vilolations every week to see if this comes up and if nothing looks like you got a free ride

if it's a NYC ticket, go to the finance section of the DMV (URL is on flip side of ticket) and key in the ticket #.
    See what comes up.

If it does come up, read about what's required on a ticket & how to plead not-guilty either on-line or via mail.
Don't wait too long, I believe you only have 20 days to appeal the ticket.

If the ticket doesn't match your tag, you've got no worries. I've simply ignored a ticket with that error and when I run my actual tag in NYC dept of finance's website search it comes up clean. If that's the case and ignoring it bothers you then send in the appeal with a photo of your car and tag and explain that the ticket is defective since the tag information is inaccurate. That will kick it.

That is one of the very few tickets you can get out of due to an incorrect tag #. I got a speeding ticket and the trooper put the wrong tag on the ticket. I thought I could utilize that as a case for dismissal...Unfortunately, the courts do not recognize that error as grounds for dismissal.

First of all, thanks to everyone who replied. The ticket was issued in New Rochelle, NY...I was told that I have nothing to worry about because nothing shows up when I write my license plate...but I will check back again on monday check if something shows up. But I was also told that if I go to the city hall they can void the ticket because it was their mistake...but I don't think they will give up that easily lol.

If the ticket is $25.00 I would just pay it.... it would not be worth the time to make sure to check on this every week.
