In the city the people that give tickets are un-real fast, which tells me that they have to be working on some sort of commission, no salary employee is as diligent as these people. Does anyone know how the parking ticket givers get paid?

I can't imagine a city employee getting paid commission on writing tickets. And I can't imagine that they are getting rich doing what they do.

More than likely, they try and write a ton of tickets at the beginning of their shift and then they can either take a long lunch or even go home an hour or two early. Their ticket count would be high enough that no one would notice if they looked at their stats. But this is only speculation.

I got hit twice in two weeks in an area I've been parking in for years without a problem. My guess was that Daley was trying to make some money for the Olympic bid.

I didn't think that they were getting a commission in the traditional sense, more like soft incentives. I think that anyone that parks in the city would agree that parking ticket frequency has gone up substantially.

    I'd agree with that.

From my home office, I typically see 6-8 parking people/police cars troll the street for parking tickets during a single day. It's unreal. They're also WAY more diligent than they used to be about no front plate. The first week I moved here I got $200 in tickets real fast. Sucks ass.

I absolutely think that the budget squeeze has gotten them a lot more active. Definitely an easy way to raise revenues.
