Hello I have trouble identifying the following parts of my Mondial 8 1981 . One of them might be a sort of alarm I think, and if so, I would gladly get rid of it even if it has a lot of wiring Thank you Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Perhaps a short intro of your Mondial and its owner is always nice. There are wiring diagrams that people here have or on the internet. The early QV is not that different from the 8 Ferrari Mondial Technical Electric Wiring Diagram 1982 IT EN - Veikl
Image Unavailable, Please Login Sorry for that I’m a proud owner of a Mondial 8 1981 EU and I’m from Romania. I bought the car two months ago and I’ve been so far fixing the mechanical part of the car. I will post images with the work done but everything is so slow because of the brexit, the best websites for spares being in Uk.. I do have the electric circuits book but I’ll have to trace the alarm wiring. I still don’t know what is the thing in the first image; the third one is by the specs a flash relay (and not working) Thank you
Looks very nice! New TRX tyres? It looks like it is the alarm siren. Ferrari didn't have any alarm systems in their cars those day. So this is aftermarket, any identification marks/plate on it? Personally I would get rid of it in the beginning just to get to know if all the original wiring is working properly. The fusebox is often a problem with the Mondial btw and the connectors are known to oxidize. A can of contact spray is your friend.
No spray on the backside of your fuse board, please....its going to ruin the plastic layers. Mondial 8 has a different fuse board internal diagram then mondial QV...
Sorry poor choice of words.. I didn't mean the connections on the fuseboard. Wire connectors I mean like in the engine bay etc and you are right not to spray contact spray on the fuse board.
The tires are new, dot 2021; but the fuse box has some “custom wiring” which I need to sort out.. Unfortunately no marking on the alarm, so I will not remove it by myself Don’t worry, I won’t mess with any cleaner on the fuse box Thanks MvT and Guido Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh wow! An aweful lot of wires go in there! Usually you also have a little black box for inside the car, but I think this one is an all in one unit. It is "Made in Italy"
I see that fuse board you have is a newer type with the newer fuses. The OEM used porcelain fuses....and thats why there are some wires connected on front of it.
