Hello all! Successful fuel pump operation. However, I did manage to break the bracket that holds the deck lid’s strut arm on driver side to the ball joint. Can anybody point me in the right direction for purchase?

    Thank you !

Not sure what I'm looking at here... Is it some kind of locking collar/ring?

The only "bracket" I see is item #12

Do you have a photo of the good side?

The strut itself isn't so expensive. P/N 65855000. You may save a couple of dollars if you can find a sachs/stabilus substitute for engine lid strut. I could only find one for the frunk lid on the forum... i.e. SG404018. Length and force may be different on the engine lid.

When you take that ring on or off, use a pair of spring loaded external circlip pliers, it will save damaging it and a lot easier

Yah! I should’ve been more careful.

Locking collar seems right. As a temporary solution I tightened the broken piece (a portion of it bent and broke off). With this process I managed to wrap the collar around the strut to lock it but hoping to find a replacement to get on there.

The picture that is found is more of a bracket and too big. Thanks all for the help. Maybe it’s not something that can be purchased individually.

I have seen that clip on every strut I have replaced. It should be on both ends of the strut where it goes over the receiver ball. Is it not on the new strut? If not salvage one from the old strut. They pull back slightly to release the old strut from its ball mount.

I realize that that he was not changing the strut. However, to get the side panels off to access the fuel pumps (if it is like a 360), you have to remove the struts from their mounts. I suspect that this is when the issue occurred. The part in his hand looks like the locking spring that secures the strut to the ball mount on the car. Either get a new strut which is not very expensive or buy a cheap strut and harvest the spring.
