Part of the Make A Wish parade today

I was honored today to participate in the CT Childrens Medical Center/ Make A Wish parade. I took a teenager for a ride from the children's hospital to the Ferrari and Friends Concorso event. There were 40 cars that took 40 kids in the parade. Police escort door to door for the trip back.

This is my second year in a row being able to contribute to this and can't wait to step up again next year. Last year traffic became a factor even with the escort, this year the concorso location changed and so did the route.

Being #39 out of 40 cars, there somehow always seems to be the whiplash effect at the back of the pack. As we left the parking lot and rounded the first corner the car ahead of me was already on the throttle and playing catchup. So not to let an opportunity slip away, I too rolled into the throttle in persuit of the yellow Ferrari ahead. As I glimpsed in the rear view I could see a Ferrari Challenge car(#40), still wearing racing slicks, doing what he could to maintain the opened gap. I swear I could see a smile on the face of the officer in the case car behind him!

The ride back to the concorso was fun, at one point traffic did backup as we neared the point where the kids are dropped off and their names are announced. As they are introduced and exiting the car they are greeted by (forgive me if I'm wrong!) Ms. CT., and then made honorary citizens of Italy for the day. But, while waiting our turn we joked about getting him some girls phone numbers while we were sitting in the Countach, we both were laughing.

Wow, I can't wait until next year!!!!!!!!
