Anybody know where to get (or cross reference), what must be an inexpensive and common part? I need the socket for the bulb that lights up the driver's side ashtray in my '85 Testarossa. Thanks, rd

I've worked on some of the running lights and such on my cars with stuff from the local parts store....just match the new socket up to existing lamp and work thru the mounting....

    Good luck!

Hi, Brian. Mr. Sarchasm here. I suppose eating crow is never out of style, so here goes------GULP------Ah, that's better. Sorry. I surfed around last night and did find a few "junkyards" on the web for wrecked exotics. One of the problems is that I need a 5 cent part, which they will want to attach to a $200 part that I don't need, in order to sell it to me. What should I do re. a replacement? You say you have one? As for my profile, what do you want to know? Many thanks and I hope my sarchasm hasn't gotten in the way. rd Littleton, CO '85 Ferrari Testarossa

    [Removed at request of user]

What can I send you in return, in addition to undying admiration?
Pardon my confusion about your initial reply. I'm new to posting here. It now dawns on me that your "junk yard" reply is followed a few lines later by "call Ferrari Parts Exchange". I am now guessing that this is a junkyard to which you were refering me, but since I don't know much about them and don't have their number (I suppose it's in a link), I guess I didn't realize what you were doing. Hence the explanation of the post saying that the info I wanted was in your original post now makes sense. Sorry to piss everyone off. I hope my apology is accepted. Thanks again and let me know what I owe you and where to send it. rd

He was requesting a Private Message...it's in the grey RH box at the header...

It's ok though .....but now everyone on the Internet has your addy.....

What if we all drop in for a beer at once? LOL!

To send him one, click on HIS post at the underlined name, you'll see the drop down boxes with options....

You can edit your post ONLY for 30 minutes, then it's forever.unless Admin helps out.........if you want to send your address that way to Rifledriver....

We can send Private Messages behind the scenes without posting in threads....sneaky, huh?

I've got the address. It might not be a bad idea to get rid of it as Tex suggested. He and a couple hundred of his friends might come by looking for a BBQ.

The part is in the capable hands of the USPS.

I have no friends.....that's why none of my cars get repaired!

I get tired of pushing them around, all by myself! LOL!

Still, I haven't made a ski trip in a long time...this would be on they way!

I DID have an old gf send an enticing pic the other day, from Co Springs, CO......LOL!

In response to the admiration of the Khamsin: yes, it's quite possibly the coolest car ever made. It's like a spaceship. It's a bit of an odd car to drive, for a few reasons: the steering is super quick (2 turns lock to lock), which, if you sneeze wrong, could put you into the weeds while driving. It's a speed sensitive power steering that self centers.
The other strange factor is the super assisted brakes. The pedal is basically sensitive to pressure, rather than the length of travel of the pedal.
All of these issues are basically ones that you get used to, with a little time behind the wheel. They only made around 430 (431, I think) of them, so when I drive it, no one knows what the hell it is. With the 4.9 L V8 and 4-42mm Webers, it's like a really cool hot rod. Can you tell I like the car?
